Can Lodden Pull It Off This Time?

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Johnny Lodden
Johnny Lodden

Jose Espinoza had already won a small pot at the beginning of the day, but has now been eliminated by Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden. Lodden opened for 6,500 and called Espinoza's shove from the big blind for about 50,000. Lodden had the {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and was up against Espinoza's {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The board came {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Espinoza was eliminated.

Lodden is on the verge 17th EPT cash. He's made several deep runs, but never won one. Will this be the one?

He's amassed €819,935 in EPT cashes, which ranks him 82nd on the all time EPT Money List. He has $2,023,039 in life time tournament winnings, making him 459th on the All Time Money List. He cashed here three times allready, and his biggest score was in Monte Carlo as well. Last year he finished 3rd for €467,000 right at the Grand Final.

Chidwick Must Hate Paris

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We missed the preflop action, but we do know that Bryan Paris ended up all in from the big blind for 140,000 and was at risk against Stephen Chidwick, who was in the small blind.

Chidwick: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Paris: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

It was two pocket pairs for the blind-versus-blind battle, and Paris had the best of it. The {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop was safe for Paris, and so was the {J-Clubs} turn. All Paris needed to do was dodge a six on the river, which he did when the {3-Hearts} blanked.

Ladies for the Lady

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez

Action folded to a short-stacked Ana Marquez on the button and she moved all in for 64,800. The small blind folded, and then World Poker Tour Season XII Grand Prix de Paris runner-up Vasili Firsau called from the big blind.

Marquez: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Firsau: {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Marquez was looking to dodge an ace or any other tomfoolery, which she did when the board ran out a clean {2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

David Boyaciyan
David Boyaciyan

David Boyaciyan and Rhys Jones had a preflop raising confrontation and then got it all in on a flop of {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Jones had the best of it with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} against the {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} of Boyaciyan.

The turn card {j-Hearts} and river {9-Spades} however gave Boyaciyan a runner runner straight and a double up.

Duval Short

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jason Duval has taken some big hits early on. He just lost a big pot to Mark Teltscher after the Englishman shoved on the river of a {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} board with around 70,000 already in the middle.

Duval sat staring at his opponent but Teltscher looked straight ahead, not daring to make eye contact. Finally, a very reluctant Duval folded his hand and left himself super short.

Trickett Loses a Race

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Sam Trickett was the original raiser and called a shove from Jussi Nevanlinna who started with 60,300 against the 237,000 stack of Trickett.

Nevanlinna had the pair {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Trickett the over cards {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Trickett would be the first to admit he runs pretty good in these spots but not this time.

The final board of {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs} saw some ot Trickett’s chips double up Nevanlinna.
