Marrocolli Doubles Through Meoni

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Just minutes ago Marrocoli found a lot of new chips and he got them from his neighbor Alessandro Meoni. Italian on Italian action it was!

Marroccoli had {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} which was by far the best hand against Meoni's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Marroccoli doubled.

Lindop Eliminated; Johnson Somehow Escapes in Monster Pot

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Mitch Johnson
Mitch Johnson

We happened upon the action with around 200,000 in the pot and a board reading {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Alex Lindop had bet 67,000 — leaving himself 120,000 or so back — and Dinesh Alt raised all in for roughly 200,000 from the hijack.

Mitch Johnson was in the cutoff and thought a long time before releasing his hand.

"If I hadn't played with you yesterday I would definitely fold," Lindop told Alt. The man from the UK then thought for a solid minute before calling off.

"Nuts," Alt said and tabled the {8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. Lindop shook his head up and down and showed the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Some other players at the table commented that it was a tough spot to get away from, but then Johnson said that he had folded aces.

No one believed him, so he reached over and turned over his discards — {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

"Wow," Shyam Srinivasan said, "Just wow." His sentiments were echoed by several other players at the table.

Savov Jams Into Westmorland

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jordan Westmorland min-raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Valeri Savov moved all in for 160,000. It was no snap call from Westmorland but he did put the chips in and turned over the{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Savov was flipping with the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} but the {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} flop was devastating to say the least. No miracle happened on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {7-Clubs} river, Savov headed to the payout desk.

Sardone And Petruzzelli On The Rail

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Our Italian colleagues told us about the eliminations of Alessio Sardone and Federico Petruzzelli. Petruzzelli had pocket kings and Andrija Martic flopped two pair with {10-}{9-} in a three way pot. On the {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} turn the money went in with the Italian holding pocket kings and Andrija doubled up after a blank river. The remaining stack was gone shortly after in a battle of the blinds.

Sardone ran with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} into the {K-Spades}{5-Spades} of an opponent on the {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} board. He called the all in bet on the river with less chips to discover the bad news.

Telker Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Telker
Michael Telker

Ariel Celestino opened for 12,000 and Piotr Shautsou three-bet to 28,000. Michael Telker was on the button and thought long and hard about what to do. His final decision was to move all in.

Celestino folded and when Shautsou got a count of 147,000 he made the call with his {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Telker turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

The final board ran out {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Telker dodged the over cards to double up.

“Thank you. I’m such a nit I wanted to fold.” Telker said.
