End Of The Line For Vandersmissen

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Kevin Vandersmissen
Kevin Vandersmissen

Belgian pro Kevin Vandersmissen was just knocked out and he was kind enough to share with us what happened.

Vandersmissen shoved all in over an opening raise for 50,000 chips holding {8-}{8-} and he was called by {A-}{K-}.

"He hit a king on the turn," Vandersmissen said, as he was already holding a receipt for the €2,200 tournament that just kicked off.

"I might even play the high roller. I'm playing well so then you have to play as much as you can," Vandersmissen said.

No More Chouity

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

You know who you can watch on the live stream? Viktor Blom!
You know who you won't be able to see on the live stream? Nicolas Chouity.

In one of the last hands before the break the EPT Monte Carlo winner busted to Milan Joksic. We're not entirely sure what happened but we are sure Chouity's kings were cracked. Whether it was all in pre flop or post flop, the result was the same as Joksic had {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on {7-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Chouity's kings went into the muck and he left the tournament area.

Another Hansen Hand

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

On a {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board Gus Hansen checked from the small blind. His neighbor, Hakan Inan from Switzerland, checked behind.

The pot was rather big already though as the dealer got underway completing the board with the {J-Clubs}.

Hansen tossed in 20,500 and Inan thought about it for a good three minutes before calling.

"Two pair" announced Hansen. A second later his {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} was open on the table and Inan mucked.

Lucky Jin

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Cailin Jin opened and was raised by Simo Herman Kiukas . Jin moved all in and Kiukas sighed and called it off. It was a strange sigh as he tabled {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and was against the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Jin. The sigh proved prophetic though as the board ran out…

{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and with Jin just having Kiukas covered, Kiukas hit the rail. “I am lucky.” Admitted Jin.

Blachut Shoves Turn

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Vit Blachut
Vit Blachut

Johnny Lodden opened for 4,000 and got callers in Vit Blachut on the button and the big blind. The three players saw a flop of {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and it was checked to Blachut who bet 5,000 after some thought. The big blind folded and Lodden made the call.

Turn was the {q-Diamonds} and again Lodden checked. Blachut gave it some more thought and then reached out to move all his chips over the line. Lodden threw his hand away.

Telker Walks

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Michael Telker
Michael Telker

Michael Telker has been eliminated. He folded for most of the day, claiming to be card dead. Having moved tables he got one shove through but was out soon after. PokerNews caught up with him just after the Tournament Director had returned his water bottle filled with vodka.

Asked about his exit hand all he would say was, “Jacks against king-queen? Yeah that didn’t really work out.”
