Hand #1 on Table 1, Seat 1 for the One and Only Leon Tsoukernik

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Leon Tsoukernik has been busy playing cash games the past couple of days. In his own casino in Rozvadov he played in a live-streamed €500/€1,000/€2,000 cash game with a straddle that at one point reached €32,000. Earlier today we spotted him playing €200/€400 in the casino here in Barcelona, but now he has taken his seat in the €50,000 Super High Roller.

After Jason Mo raised to 6,000 from the cutoff seat, and Mike Watson called on the button, Tsoukernik casually squeezed to 22,400 from the big blind. Mo made the call, Watson folded.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and Tsoukernik took another bite from his snickers bar, sipped on his coffee, and tossed in 47,000. Mo made the call.

The {6-Hearts} on the turn prompted Tsoukernik to bet 77,000 with about 100,000 behind. Mo folded, and Tsoukernik started stacking with a big smile.

"Write that down — first hand on Table 1, Seat 1... almost doubled!" he laughed.

On the other side of the table, Mo wasn't as excited as Tsoukernik was.

Lefrancois is Back In, Tony G is Not

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

For a second we thought Tony G had bought into this event, as he was sitting at Table 1 in Seat 2 chatting with his buddy Leon Stoukernik. He asked us to take a photo, but then hopped up out of the chair and it was realized that he wasn't actually playing, just posing.

In other news, Pascal Lefrancois has rejoined after being the first one eliminated today.

Holz Gets Value from Kanit

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 5,900 from the button, and Fedor Holz called from the big blind. The flop brought out the {3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and Holz check-called 4,500.

The {Q-Diamonds} turn was checked by both players, and the river was the {7-Spades}. Holz checked again, and this time Kanit bet 11,000. Holz check-raised to 39,000, and Kanit called after thinking for a bit.

Holz showed the {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to take down the pot, and Kanit mucked.

Queens for Gieles

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Dutchman Luuk Gieles has had quite a positive last couple of hours, and he's up to 560,000 in chips. In a recent pot, which started with Gieles raising to 6,000 from the button, Michael Egan three-bet to 21,000. Gieles four-bet to 50,000, and then Egan went into the tank for a bit before he made the call.

The flop brought out the {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and Egan checked right away. Gieles took his time before checking as well, and the {9-Hearts} hit the turn. Both players checked again before they also checked the {6-Spades} river. Gieles tabled the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, and that was good enough to win him the pot.

Carrel, He, Sternheimer, and Kurganov Bust

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

It's that level, that level where somehow a lot of players dust off their stacks.

The first player to bust was Chang He. On a board of {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}, he bet out, and his neighbor Stephen Chidwick moved all in. He called with the {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}, but rolled his eyes when Chidwick tabled the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The {5-Diamonds} completed the board, and He was eliminated.

Philip Sternheimer was next to go. He got his chips in with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} before the flop and was up against Mike McDonald's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Sternheimer made his exit.

Then, Igor Kurganov, who had admittedly been fairly active, opened to 5,500 from the cutoff seat, and Martin Jacobson defended from the big blind. The flop came {J-}{9-}{6-} rainbow, and Jacobson checked. Kurganov bet 7,100, and Jacobson check-raised to 20,000. Kurganov moved all of his small denomination chips forward, making it 36,600. Jacobson moved him all in, and Kurganov called for 111,000 total. Kurganov was the proud owner of {A-}{A-}, and Jacobson was trailing with his {K-}{J-}, but a {4-} on the turn and {K-} on the river changed all of that. Kurganov hit the rail, but bought right back in to give it another try.

Charlie Carrel was also eliminated, but his elimination has gone unknown.
