Waxman vs. Amirov

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

After Ilkin Amirov opened for 850 under the gun and three other players called, Matt Waxman three-bet to 4,200 from the small blind. Not to be outdone, Amirov four-bet to 10,100, the three limpers folded, and Waxman took his time before making the call.

Both players checked the {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop, and then Waxman fired out 8,000 on the {6-Diamonds} turn. Amirov made the call, but folded when Waxman upped it to 19,000 on the {3-Hearts} river.

Vogelsang Doubles Through Uskov

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Christoph Vogelsang bet 15,025, the last of his chips, from the big blind on a completed {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} board. Opponent Alexander Uskov wasted little time before calling.

"Straight," Vogelsang declared, showing {10-Spades}{4-Spades}. Uskov shook his head in disappointment and mucked {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Jacobson on a Major Slide

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Martin Jacobson was off to a great start, but things reversed rather quickly for the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event champ.

In a recent hand, David Dayan opened for 1,000 only to have Jacobson three-bet to 3,000 from the button. Yuichi Sumida then four-bet all in for 9,925 from the big blind, Dayan folded, and Jacobson made the call.

Jacobson: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Sumida: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop paired Jacobson, but he needed more help if he hoped to eliminate his Japanese opponent. The {8-Diamonds} turn didn't do it, and neither did the {7-Diamonds} river. Ship the double to Simida.

Roberts' All-In Bluff Fails

Brian Roberts
Brian Roberts

Brian Roberts bet 10,000 from the big blind against Sorel Mizzi on a {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board, and Mizzi called. The {2-Spades} completed the board, and Roberts counted down his stack. He thought for about a minute more and then slid it forward.

"How much?" Mizzi asked. It was 14,925, and Mizzi quickly called.

Roberts showed {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a missed flush draw, and Mizzi's {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} took the pot.

Lo Shing Fung Among Recent Eliminations... Again

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Lo Shing Fung has become the first player to officially exit the €25,000 for good. He's not the first bustout mind you, just the first to fire a bullet, miss, and then fire a second only to miss again. Since this is a single reentry tournament, we've seen the last of Fung.

To that end, the bustouts and reentries are coming at a rapid pace. It's a challenge to keep on top of it all, but we'll do our best to let you know just who's in, who's out, and who's reentering.
