Money Talks with Bryn Kenney

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Bryn Kenney took down a small side event at the Season 11 EPT Grand Final, but we of course had much more important things to discuss with him. Kenney was the initiator of the €50,000 Super High Roller Turbo event, and we caught up with him to discuss the validity of this event.

Update on the High Roller Super Satellite

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

The 2015 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final €25,500 High Roller field will not only grow because of reentries, there will also be six players joining from Event #59 €2,800 Super Satellite, a tournament that attracted 50 players and created a prize pool of €157,528.

Currently there are 16 players remaining in the field, meaning 10 will fail to capture a seat. A small consolation prize of €4,528 awaits the eventual seventh-place finisher though.

Mironiuk Bluffs Off Stack to Alvarado

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

We found Carlos Mironiuk clashing with JC Alvarado on a {5-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Spades} flop. Mironiuk bet 4,000, and Alvarado raised to 13,500. Mironiuk responded with an all-in shove for roughly 40,000, and Alvarado quickly called with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for a king-high flush. Mironiuk stared at his hand and then the board, then showed he was drawing dead with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, as not even a runner straight flush was available. The meaningless last two cards were {7-Clubs} and {10-Diamonds}.

Koon, Kanit Join; Holz and Colman Rejoin

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Fedor Holz and Dan Colman busted their first bullets and have reloaded for another €25,500 apiece. Meanwhile, Mustapha Kanit and Jason Koon have joined the field. Kanit already banked a win for more than €936,000 in the €50,000 Super High Roller, and we'll see if he can make it two here at EPT 11 Grand Final.

Lo's Bluff Gets There On the End

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

After Timo Pfutzenreuter raised on the button to 750, Rono Lo three-bet to 1,650 from the small blind. Pfutzenreuter called, and the flop came down {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Lo bet 1,600, and Pfutzenreuter called.

The turn was the {7-Hearts}, and Lo continued with a bet of 5,550. Pfutzenreuter called once again, then the {J-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Lo checked, and Pfutzenreuter checked.

Lo tabled the {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, pairing up on fifth street. Pfutzenreuter shook his hand with a smile and mucked, as if to say, "You got there on the river." Lo collected the pot and moved to 65,000 in chips.

Kaverman Fires

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Noah Vaillancourt checked, and Byron Kaverman bet 1,100. Dimitar Danchev called behind, then Vaillancourt called. The turn was the {Q-Hearts}, and Vaillancourt checked. Kaverman bet 2,400, and this time both of his opponents folded.

Garibli Down Early

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ilkin Garibli took down the High Roller at PCA earlier in this European Poker Tour season for just over $1.1 million. He's looking for a repeat performance here in Monte Carlo, but he just lost a chunk of his starting stack after seeing a {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop heads up from the button against big blind Andrey Shatilov. Garibli bet 1,100, and Shatilov made it 3,100. Garibli called, and a {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. Shatilov bet 4,500, and Garibli raised to 11,500. Shatilov called this time, and both players checked the {6-Hearts} river.

Shatilov showed {6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a boat on the river and took the pot.

Field Size Up To 120 Players

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The field size has been bumped up to 120 players. With registration and single reentry opened until the start of Day 2, this number is expected to get much, much bigger. There's also a satellite going on in the other tournament room that will award six seats to the event.
