Daouadji Calls It In

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

France's Belmehel Dja Daouadji has doubled through Ireland's Gavin O'Rourke after correctly predicting what the turn card would be.

Daouadji's chips went in preflop holding {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and O'Rourke tank-called in the big blind with the dominating {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. O'Rourke stayed in front on the {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, but when Daouadji prediction of a king on the turn came true with the arrival of the {K-Clubs}, O'Rourke fell behind and was drawing to three outs. The {Q-Spades} rive wasn't one of them and he handed over 80,000 of his stack.

Johnny Lodden Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We ran into Johnny Lodden near the pay out desk and he told us the details of his bust out. He had just been moved and got {K-}{K-} with a raise, all in (83,000) and call in front of him. He moved in for 260,000 and got called by a player who had {A-}{K-}. The {A-} in the window spelled doom for Lodden and he wouldn't catch up on the turn or river.

Roed Bluffs Off All His Chips, Ensan the New Chip Leader!

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We caught the action on the river but Jude Ainsworth filled us in afterwards. Here's what happened.

Hossein Ensan opened from late position and Kent Roed three bet from the big blind. Ensan called in position.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Roed made a continuation bet. That bet was called by Ensan and he called the 100,000 bet on the {4-Clubs} turn as well. The river came the {4-Spades} and Roed shoved for 330,000. Ensan called after some thinking to create one of the biggest pots in the tournament so far.

Kent Roed: {K-}{K-}
Hossein Ensan: {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Roed got up, just said "Nice" twice and Ensan said "Six seven, it was connected." Roed repeated "Nice" while he made his way to the pay out desk.

Niste Runs Out of Chips

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Mihai Niste in the hijack and he shoved for 40,000. Paul Michaelis looked him up from the button, and the cards were turned up.

Niste: {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Michaelis: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Niste was drawing to two live cards, but neither one of them materialized as the board ran out {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Iordanishvili Doubles Through Farrell

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We just caught the end of a hand between Niall Farrell and Beka Iordanishvili, as the latter ended up all in for his tournament life on the turn.

The board showed {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs} when Iordanishvili was all in for 113,000 holding {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Farrell tabled {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair, but the river was the {K-Clubs} giving Iordanishvili a flush and a double up.

Greenwood in Push or Fold Mode

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Sam Greenwood finished as runner-up to Steve O'Dwyer in the €50,000 Super High Roller earlier this week and netted €583,500, but he's got his work cut out if he wants a similar result in the Main Event.

Sonny Franco opened to 10,000 and Greenwood responded with a 54,000 all-in bet from the small blind, which went uncalled. A couple of hands later, Greenwood was in the cutoff and moved all-in again when the action folded around to him.

Aces for Ainsworth

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jerry Odeen got his stack of 107,000 all in preflop and found himself in dire straits against Jude Ainsworth.

Odeen: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Ainsworth: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Odeen was in desperate need of a nine, but none appeared on the {8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, though he did pick up running straight options. The {5-Clubs} turn meant Odeen could win with either a nine or seven, but neither appeared as the {2-Spades} blanked on the river.

Bielskis Doubles With Pocket Kings

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The dealer announced "all-in and call" and we arrived at the table to see Mihai Niste's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} go head-to-head with the powerhouse hand that is {K-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Neither player improved on the {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, but Bielskis locked up the hand by turning a third king, the {K-Clubs}. The {Q-Spades} completed the board and Bielskis' double.
