Amirov Breaks Through the 10 Million Chip Barrier

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Ilkin Amirov is the first player to break through the 10 million chip barrier after a big hand went down involving Olivier Ferrero.

Ferrero opened to 175,000 from the button and Amirov called from the big blind. Amirov checked the {8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop then called a 185,000 continuation bet. Both players checked the {J-Clubs} turn, with Amirov leading for 320,000 on the {4-Diamonds} river. Ferrero ent into the tank for three minutes before calling with {A-}{10-}, a hero call that was wrong because Amirov held {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a better ace-high.

Butzhammer With an Early Double

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

German pro Thomas Butzhammer has been fast out of the blocks since returning from the dinner break and has doubled his stack.

Butzhammer open-shoved for 905,000 from under the gun and Vlado Banicevic made the call from the big blind. Banicevic turned over the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and was dominating the {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} of Butzhammer, that was until the {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop. The {10-Spades} turn gave Banicevic some outs to a straight, but none of them came in on the {7-Clubs} river.

Ferrero Pushes All-In On The River

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Gleb Tremzin raised to 130,000 from the cutoff, Olivier Ferrero called on the button, Hossein Ensan called in the mall blind, and Ilkin Amriov called in the big blind.

Ensan led for 340,000 on the {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop, and only Ferrero called. Ensan bet again on the {A-Clubs} turn, making it 450,000 to go. Ferrero called.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Ensan now checked, only to see Ferrero move all-in for 1,280,000 and Enan folded.

Amirov Acts Strong

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Olivier Ferrero was first to act under the gun and he came in for a raise of 135,000. The action folded back to Ikin Amirov on the button and the three-bet to 310,000, a bet that looks stronger due to Ferrero opening from one of the worst positions on the table. Ferrero didn't want to invest any more chips in the pot and he released his hand.

Popov Needs Two Barrels To Shake Off Butzhammer

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

The action folded to Slaven Popov on the button and he raised to 125,000. Thomas Butzhammer defended his big blind with a call, before check-calling a 75,000 bet on the {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs} flop.

Butzhammer checked for a second time on the {Q-Diamonds} turn, but this time folded when facing a 135,000 bet from Popov.

Popov vs. Banicevic

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Gleb Tremzin opened for 130,000 from early position and received a call from Olivier Ferrero. Onur Unsal came along from the button, Slaven Popov and Vlado Banicevic from the small and big blinds respectively, and five players saw a flop of {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, which they all checked.

When the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Popov bet 280,000, Banicevic raised to 605,000, and the rest of the players folded. Popov made the call and then both players returned to checking the {8-Diamonds} river. Popov tabled the {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of aces, and it was good as Banicevic mucked.
