The Ladies Call Him Big Popov

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

With 470,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Gleb Tremzin checked from the big blind and then called when Slaven Popov bet 195,000 from the cutoff. After the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}, Tremzin checked, Popov bet 430,000, and Tremzin check-raised all in. Popov paused for a few moments and then called off for 1.855 million.

Tremzin: {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Popov: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Tremzin decided to make a move with his double gutter, but it didn't pay off as the {6-Clubs} bricked on the river to give Popov the double.

Ivan Deyra Eliminated in 9th Place (€68,560)

Ivan Deyra - 9th Place
Ivan Deyra - 9th Place

Ilkin Amirov opened for 160,000 from the hijack only to have Ivan Deyra three-bet jam for 960,000. Action folded back to Amirov, he called, and it was off to the races.

Amirov: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Deyra: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

It was a flip, and Deyra was no doubt excited to see the {a-Hearts} in the window. Unfortunately for him, it was followed by the {7-Spades} and {9-Diamonds}. The {2-Hearts} turn left Deyra drawing dead, and he watched helplessly as the {J-Spades} river made his elimination in ninth place official.

There will now be a short break so the final eight can take some photos. Cards will be back in the air shortly.
