Dunst Done For

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

Tony Dunst saw Ivan Luca raise to 2,300 from UTG and moved all-in over the top for 15,200 with {8-}{8-} . Luca made the call with pocket nines, and the board saw Luca pair his nine on the turn to send Dunst home.

"I've had my share of luck, there are no complaints from me for at least six months!" Dunst told us after busting. The American won a World Series bracelet in the summer for $339,254.

Komaromi Finds A Queen

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alex Komaromi raised to 2,300 under the gun and Jake Cody called in middle position. Bjoern Rieger three-bet from the cutoff to 8,900, Komaromi four-bet to 19,400, Cody got out of the way, and Rieger called.

Komaromi checked the {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and called an 18,000 bet from Rieger. Both players checked down the {Q-Hearts} turn and {5-Diamonds} river. Komaromi showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the turned pair of queens, and Rieger mucked.

Fardel Busts in Huge Early Pot

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The board is already complete in a battle of the blinds, showing {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}, and there were around 75,000 in the pot. Michel Fardel moved all in from the small blind for more than 56,000 and Narcis-Gabriel Nedelcu called from one seat over in the big blind.

Fardel sheepishly turned over the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Nedelcu had the {6-Hearts}{2-Spades} for trips deuces. The stacks were counted and Nedelcu had his opponent covered to skyrocket up in the counts.

Russell Thomas Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ognyan Dimov raised to 2,500 under the gun. Action folded around to 2012 November Niner Russell Thomas in the small blind, who put in a three-bet to 7,500. Dimov called and both players saw the flop of {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} appear. Thomas continued with 8,200 and Dimov called again.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Thomas now bet 14,000. Once again, Dimov had no intention of folding and committed the calling chips. The {4-Hearts} on the river was certainly no blank, completed both flush- and straight draws. Thomas checked and Dimov moved all in, effectively for Thomas' remaining stack of around 30,000

Thomas seemed appalled by the river and took a while before deciding on what to do. After a minute, he picked up his remaining chips and smashed them with a loud bang in the middle.

Russell Thomas: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Ognyan Dimov: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Dimov had rivered a wheel with his ace of spades to scoop the pot, and Thomas was eliminated.

Gary Swan Eliminates Jens Kyllonen

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Fedor Holz has been busy during both Day 1a, when he won the €50,000 Super High Roller, and Day 1b where he min-cashed the €25,000 Single Day High Roller. However, today he has registered for the Main Event and sat down at a table with Ilari Sahamies, Jens Kyllonen and Gary Swan.

"Congratulations on your win!" said Swan, as the German sat down at the table.

In the very next hand Kyllonen checked to Swan on a board of {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Swan bet 4,000. Kyllonen check-raised to 13,000. Swan wasted no time in moving all in, covering his opponent and Kyllonen called.

Swan showed {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Kyllonen {10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The turn was the {j-Spades} and the river the {9-Spades}, eliminating Kyllonen.

Perhaps some of Holz's run good has rubbed off on the Scotsman!

Israel Carriazo Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Pasquale Grimaldi told us about a hand early on where he flopped two pair with {A-}{K-} and an opponent made a runner runner straight. Then, Israel Carriazo shoved for less than five big blinds and Niall Murray called on the button. Eli Heath isolated out of the big blind by moving all in himself, which forced Murray out of the pot.

Carriazo: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Heath: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and the ace on the flop improve Heath to eliminate Carriazo.
