Marjanovic Busted by Petrov

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Adem Marjanovic was all in and at risk for around 680,000 after a raising war pre-flop. He was flipping for his tournament life against Yordan Petrov's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} .

The flop of {7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} put Marjanovic behind and he couldn't catch up through the {Q-Diamonds} turn or {K-Diamonds} river. Petrov now has over 2 million chips.

Double Up for Spyridon Koukouris

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Marco Caza raised to 48,000 and Spyridon Koukouris moved all in for 388,000 from one seat over. Caza called and both players had aces with a decent kicker, though Koukouris was in great shape to double.

Koukouris: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Caza: [Ah;Qc]

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades} and the kicker played a crucial role to let the Greek double.

Markus Durnegger Takes from Uri Reichenstein

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Uri Reichenstein raised from under the gun and Markus Durnegger called out of the big blind. On the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, Durnegger checked, Reichenstein bet 80,000 and Durnegger called.

The same actions repeated after the {4-Spades} turn with a check by Durnegger, a bet for 190,000 by Reichenstein and a call by the Austrian. The {5-Clubs} river then went check, check. Durnegger showed the {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Reichenstein mucked.

Kaverman Doubles Through Cortellazzi

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

A hand that went deep into the latest break was the one between Andrea Cortellazzi and Byron Kaverman.

We joined the action on a complete board of {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and a pot of 260,000, which Kaverman was staring intently at. He moved all in for 330,000 and sent Cortellazzi into the most uncomfortable of tanks.

Eventually, Cortellazzi decided to call it off and was shown {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} by Kaverman. Cortellazzi flipped his hand of {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} over and slammed it down onto the table. He still has 1.36m in chips, but Kaverman has grabbed a lifeline back into this EPT Main Event on 900,000.

Stephen Malone
Stephen Malone

Stephen Malone opened the action to 44,000 and quickly became embroiled in a raising war with Rui Sousa, who 3-bet to 144,000. Malone made it 290,000, but Sousa shoved all in for 750,000! Malone took a moment to compose himself, but elected to call pretty quickly.

Stephen Malone: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Rui Sousa: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The board of {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} saw Sousa bust and give Stephen Malone a massive stack of around 1.75m chips. His rail of passing friends chose the exact right moment to ask him 'How are you doing?'
