Sergey Lebedev Leads Final 13 in €10,300 High Roller

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

A total of 80 players returned for Day 2 of the 2016 PokerStars EPT12 Dublin €10,300 High Roller and three players reentered while Scott Margereson signed up just before the restart to create a prize pool of €1,794,500 with 185 entries. Within 10 levels of 60 minutes each, the field has been whittled down to just 13 hopefuls. Leading them is Sergey Lebedev after the Russian bagged up 1,522,000 chips. Three other players claimed over one million in chips: Emil Patel (1,339,000), Ryan Riess (1,174,000) and Akin Tuna (1,100,000).

Lebedev amassed a large percentage of his chips when he turned a set of queens against Samuel Panzica, with the American holding aces. That boosted his chip stack to nearly 1.7m, but he ended up slightly less. Other notables who are still in going into day three include Davidi Kitai (512,000), Christoph Vogelsang, (310,000), Timothy Adams, (758,000), Rocco Palumbo (565,000) and Sam Chartier (458,000).

A whole host of players bust on day two, both before and after play was in the money. Igor Kurganov, Anthony Zinno, Fabrice Soulier, Mustapha Kanit, Mohsin Charania, Daniel Dvoress, Bryn Kenny and Mike Watson all busted before play was in the money, and missed out on a min cash worth €17,950.

The unfortunate moniker of bubble boy went to UKIPT Main Event Champion Vladas Tamasauskas who tanked on the bubble in a hand against Jerry Odeen before calling with ace-seven for a pair of sevens, only to be sent to the rail by Odeen’s pocket nines.

Once the money bubble burst, players went on a 75 minute dinner break. After they returned, the bust outs quickened up, with Ibrahim Ghassan (27th), Francois Billard (25th) and Scott Margereson (24th) busting in quick succession for a min-cash worth €17,950. Another player who secured a min-cash was day one chip leader Dominik Nitsche (26th) who lost a pot to Marco Leonzio where Leonzio turned a straight, which was enough to beat Nitsche who held only jacks. He then lost the remainder of his chips calling a check-shove with ace-jack against William Arruda, who had flopped two-pair with ace-nine.

The bustouts continued with Joao Vieira (23rd), Luiz Duarte (22nd) and Arne Coulier (21st) cashing for €19,750. Next Jacob Bazeley (20th) and Marco Leonzio (19th) cashed for a slightly higher amount (€21,530), with the latter busting in a one million chip pot with Ryan Riess and Jason Mercier. Riess got it in with pocket nines ahead of Mercier's ace-king, with Leonzio's ace-eight hopelessly behind.

After that the pace slowed before the high profile eliminations began, first with Jason Mercier, who was short after that huge pot, (18th for €21,530), Ben Heath (17th for €24,220), Jeff Gross (16th for €24,220), Sylvain Loosli (15th for €26,910) and Felix Bleiker (14th for €26,910) exiting the tournament field before play stopped for the night.

The last 13 players will return tomorrow at 12.30 p.m. for the final day of the EPT Dublin festival, each vying for the trophy and €397,500 first prize.

Felix Bleiker Eliminated in 14th Place (€26,910)

The action reached Akin Tuna and he raised to 25,000 in the hijack. Fellow short stack and 2015 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event finalist Felix Bleiker moved all in from one seat over and all other opponents got out of the way. Tuna double-checked his cards and then slid forward his stack.

Bleiker: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Tuna: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop improved Tuna to a pair of jacks and Bleiker was drawing to two outs only. Neither the {8-Hearts} turn nor the {10-Clubs} river changed anything and Bleiker was eliminated in 14th place for €26,910.

Sylvain Loosli Eliminated in 15th Place (€26,910)

Sylvain Loosli

Sylvain Loosli opened to 28,000 from under the gun and Jerry Odeen then three-bet to 70,000 from the button. The action folded back to Loosli and he asked his opponent "what's your stack?" Odeen took the hands away from his stack to give a visual answer and Loosli then announced all in, the Swede tossed in an obligatory chip for the call.

Loosli: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Odeen: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The Frenchman was the player at risk for approximately 380,000 and failed to improve on a board of {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Loosli takes home €26,910 for his efforts and the field has been reduced to the last 14 hopefuls.

Jeff Gross Eliminated in 16th Place (€24,220)

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

The action started with a raise to 23,000 by Timothy Adams from under the gun and Jeff Gross then moved all in for just over 17 big blinds from the cutoff. All players behind him got out of the way and Adams quickly called without asking for an exact count.

Gross: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Adams: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

As soon as the cards were flipped over, Gross sighed after finding himself at risk with the slightly worse kicker. He would find no help with the board running out {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and headed to the rail.

Ryan Riess opened from the button and Ben Heath shoved from the small blind for roughly 200,000. Riess made the call.

Riess: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Heath: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Heath headed to the rail where his close friend and Single Day High Roller champion Charlie Carrel was waiting for him.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 18th Place (€21,530)

The action folded around to Jason Mercier and he shoved all in for his last 31,000 from the cutoff. Jeff Gross moved all in from the button as well and that scared off everyone else.

Mercier: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Gross: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The run bad of the PokerStars Team Pro continued after a disastrous flop of {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} and Mercier could not find one of the two remaining fours in the deck anymore. The {Q-Hearts} turn and {7-Diamonds} river sent him to the rail in 18th place.

Marco Leonzio Eliminated in 19th Place (€21,530)

Marco Leonzio

Marco Leonzio moved all in from under the gun and Ryan Riess from one seat over asked for a count. It was 146,000 to go and Riess then announced all in himself. The action folded around to Jason Mercier in the small blind and he asked Riess for the stack as well.

"Around 420k," Riess said. Mercier asked the dealer for an exact count and it was indeed very close to that number, 421,000 to be exact. Mercier moved all in as well and Jeff Gross folded his big blind.

Leonzio: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Riess: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Mercier: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Riess more than doubled up, busting Leonzio in 19th place as a result. Mercier sighed "just a one million chip pot" and was left super short.

Jacob Bazeley Eliminated in 20th Place (€21,530)

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jacob Bazeley
Jacob Bazeley

Christoph Vogelsang defended his big blind against a raise by Jacob Bazeley from the cutoff and then check-raised the {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop with Bazeley making the call. Just under 200,000 chips were in the middle when the {10-Clubs} hit on the turn. Vogelsang bet 275,000 to put Bazeley all in and the latter called for 203,000.

Bazeley: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Vogelsang: {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

A bluff turned into a flush draw and it got even worse for Bazeley when the {J-Clubs} river completed the board to give Vogelsang a flush. The expression on Bazeley's face spoke for itself while he collected the belongings and headed out of the tournament area.

Arne Coulier Eliminated in 21st Place (€19,740)

Arne Coulier

The last hand of the previous level turned into a big one. Arne Coulier opened from under the gun, Christoph Vogelsang then three-bet to 59,000 from the button and Coulier jammed for what looked like 282,000. Vogelsang called and once again it was a flip.

Coulier: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Vogelsang: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The flop {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} improved Vogelsang and Coulier was ready to go. Neither the {4-Diamonds} turn nor the {4-Spades} river improved the Belgian and he headed to the payout desk after turning an entry via satellite into a payday of €19,740.

Luiz Duarte Eliminated in 22nd Place (€19,740)

Luiz Duarte

The magic comeback of Luiz Duarte from one big blind to almost 50 big blinds found a sudden end after a raising war with Sergey Lebedev. The Russian raised and then four-bet shoved from early position, Duarte three-bet and then called all in out of the big blind for a massive flip.

Duarte: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Lebedev: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

On top of the two over cards, Duarte also picked up a flush draw on the flop {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, but neither the {5-Diamonds} turn and {7-Diamonds} river blanked out to bust Duarte in 22nd place.
