Chartier's Full Beats O'Dwyer

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Sam Chartier limped in from the button, Ben Heath called from the small blind, and Steve O'Dwyer raised to 7,000 out of the big blind. Only Chartier called before O'Dwyer bet 8,500 on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop. Chartier called, then faced a bet of 20,000 on the {3-Clubs} turn. The French Canadian raised to 57,000, and O'Dwyer made the call.

On the {8-Spades} river, O'Dwyer checked and Chartier bet 105,000. That sent his opponent into the think tank, and eventually O'Dwyer, the most recent Aussie Millions LK Boutique AU$250,000 Challenge winner, called. Charter showed the {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a full house, and O'Dwyer mucked.

Frey's Trips Good Enough On Four-Flushed Board

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 4,000 from early position and was called in three spots — Thiago Nishijima (hijack seat), Jason Mercier (small blind), and Kyle Frey (big blind).

Mercier, Frey, and Lichtenberger checked on the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, and Nishijima made a bet of 10,000. Mercier quickly released. Frey made the call, and Lichtenberger check-raised to 32,000. Both Nishijima and Frey called to push the pot near 115,000.

The {A-Spades} on the turn was anything but a blank, but all three players checked. The {9-Spades} on the river made for a four-flushed board, and again all three players checked.

Frey showed his {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trip threes, and both Lichtenberger and Nishijima mucked.

Drinan Doubles Up Through Buddiga

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The board was {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Pratyush Buddiga checked before Drinan moved all in for his last 26,100. It was most likely the first time we've seen an all-in triangle in play so far in this tournament, and Buddiga pondered only a short while before he made the call. Drinan tabled the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} for two pair, kings and sevens, and Buddiga mucked his hand.

Yu Flushes Thorel

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

Winfred Yu was the initial raiser from the button. Jean-Noel Thorel and Nick Petrangelo, both in the blinds, made the call. On the {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, action was checked to Yu and he made it 6,000 to go. Only Thorel called, and then he and Yu checked the {8-Clubs} turn. After the {6-Diamonds} river, Thorel led for 10,000, and Yu raised to 25,000.

After some consideration, the Frenchman called and then glanced over to the other side of the table, shaking his head, after Yu tabled the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a flush. Thorel mucked.

Small Pot for Farrell

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

In a battle of the Brits, or to be more exact, England versus Scotland, Max Silver raised from early position and was called by Niall Farrell from one seat over. On the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, Silver continued for 5,500 and Farrell called.

The {7-Spades} on the turn saw a check by Silver and a bet by Farrell for 10,000. Silver elected to fold and the EPT Season 12 Malta Main Event champion raked in the small pot.

Rossiter and Nishijima Scoop Pots

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Jason Mercier and Thiago Nishijima checked through the {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} board before Nishijima check-raised the {A-Clubs} river quite big from 9,300 to 35,000 after Mercier had bet. Mercier eventually called and was then shown the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a Broadway straight as winning hand by the Brazilian. Mercier mucked his holding.

One table over, Jeff Rossiter had checked and was waiting for action from his neighbor Sam Chartier on the {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board. Chartier bet 35,000, and Rossiter quickly called with the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a winning set of queens.

Buddiga Pulls in a Small One

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On a board of {A-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, with the pot over 10,000, Pratyush Buddiga saw his bet of 3,500 raised to 8,000 from Dietrich Fast. Buddiga tanked for a minute as the clock ticked down to the end of the second level before pushing forward a three-bet to 13,500. Fast flicked his cards into the muck, and Buddiga pulled in the pot.
