Hey Jude: Stern Pushes Ainsworth Around

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Zvi Stern
Zvi Stern

Zvi Stern opened to 4,700 and Jude Ainsworth three-bet, making it 12,500.

It folded back to Stern and he made the call out of position, sending them heads-up to a {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Stern checked, but called quickly when Ainsworth continued for 11,000. The {3-Spades} came down on the turn and Stern checked again, check-raising to 45,000 when Ainsworth fired out 18,000.

Ainsworth pitched his cards in the muck allowing Stern to claim the pot and crest the 200,000-chip mark.

Wang Doubles With Kings Through Aces

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From first position, Jonathan Concepcion raised to 4,500. Action folded to Michael Wang on the button and he three-bet to 10,500. Both blinds got out of the way and Concepcion four-bet to 22,900. Wang shoved all in for 45,500 and Concepcion called instantly after one last double check of his cards.

Jonathan Concepcion: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Michael Wang: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

It was the classic set up, but it didn't end the classic way: {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}.

"Ow sick!" one player at the table exclaimed, while Wang raked in the chips with a commiserative look on his face.

Hunter Busts Linka

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Yann Linka opened to 4,000 and Ian Hunter flat-called in the cutoff before Zvi Stern three-bet to 13,000 from the button. The action folded around to Linka and he shoved for 38,800 with Hunter then isolating over the top. Stern asked for a count and Hunter was all in for 78,400, which enforced a fold from the November Niner.

Linka: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Hunter: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The flop {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} gave both players a straight but Hunter held the nuts, which didn't change anymore on {10-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river.

London Royals Team Captain Liv Boeree Chips Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

At exactly the same time as the Global Poker League draft selection order was taking place, Liv Boeree called a raise pre-flop from Miguel Use and saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

Use checked-called Boeree's flop bet of 6,000 and then repeated it on the turn, which was the {8-Diamonds}, for 15,500. The river was the {6-Spades} and Use checked a third time, and Boeree fired a third bullet for 26,000. After a short tank, Use threw out a single 5,000 chip to make the call and Boeree tabled {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a full house, and increased her chip stack by over 50,000 chips

Stern Busts Greenwood

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood shoved his meager stack of 15,400 in from early position and it folded to 2015 November Niner Zvi Stern in the big blind.

He agonized over it for a minute before making the call.

"They're so red," he said, turning over the {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Greenwood had the {a-Clubs}{3-Spades} and had outs heading into the river despite Stern flopping a set with the board reading {2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to the turn. In the end, the {k-Hearts} came down on the river and Stern busted Greenwood.

Gray's Gone

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Fergal Cawley called a raise from early position and then faced the squeeze to 30,000 by Adrian Gray from the button. The players in the blinds and the initial raiser let go, Cawley then asked his opponent how much stack he had behind (less than 20,000 more) and moved all in with Gray calling.

Gray: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Cawley: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{A-Hearts}{9-Spades} and that was it for Gray.

Michalak folded but Pyzara called with the {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Simao was ahead with {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} but the board came {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} to give Pyzara a set.

Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

One of the former EPT champions in the field. Kevin MacPhee just picked the wrong time to three-bet shove from the cutoff for 29,200 and Jiachen Gong called from the button, the initial raiser folded.

MacPhee: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Gong: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The American was in bad shape and left drawing dead by the turn, grabbing his belongings and heading to the rail with the board running out {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Tedeschi Loses Some

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Anthony Zinno didn't remember the exact hands that added to his already impressive stack, but table neighbor Paul-Francois Tedeschi recalled that there was one bigger pot against Brian Ganon and another against himself. Tedeschi held pocket queens and Zinno flopped a set of threes to extract value.
