Holz Takes a Sizable One

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Rafael Da Silva Moraes made it 60,000 to go from first position and Fedor Holz called from the button. Justin Bonomo over called from the small blind and the three of them took a flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}. Bonomo checked and Moraes bet 113,000. Holz called, Bonomo folded.

Moraes checked when the board paired with the {Q-Clubs} on the turn and Holz bet 140,000. Moraes called and checked again with the {10-Hearts} on the river. Holz carefully cut out 270,000 and slid the chips forward. Moraes tanked for quite a bit before eventually releasing his hand.

Sammartino Departs

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino moved all in and Murad Akhundov from one seat over on the button asked for a count. It was 370,000 to go and Akhundov started grabbing T-25,000 chips for the call and placed them in front of him. The small blind folded and Bryn Kenney then quickly announced all in himself.

Akhundov was hit, leaned back and put the hands in front of his face. After some consideration, he forfeited almost half his stack and sent the cards into the muck.

Sammartino: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Kenney: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} provided no help to the Italian and he grabbed his belongings and left the tournament area, Kenney is back atop the counts.

Bonzon Shoves

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Michael Bonzon defended his big blind against a raise by Aidyn Auyezkanov and then check-called the flop {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for 30,000. On the {K-Diamonds} turn, Bonzon checked again and then folded to a second barrel.

One hand later, David Peters raised from the button and Bonzon shoved for 435,000 to enforce a fold.

Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang pushed his last 266,000 in from the button and the small blind tanked for a bit before folding. Fedor Holz in the big blind wasn't overly happy about it, but did call in the end.

Fedor Holz: {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Christoph Vogelsang: {6-Spades}{8-Spades}

The board ran out an uneventful {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Vogelsang made his exit.

Mike Watson raised under the gun for 50,000 and Justin Bonomo flatted from the small blind. Big blind Timofey Kuznutsov squeezed all in for 460,000 or so and Watson folded, Bonomo called instantly.

Kuznutsov had the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} while Bonomo tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Kuznutsov said his goodbyes. Bonomo up to approximately 1.2 million.

Adams Sends Stack to O'Dwyer

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Steve O'Dwyer raised from the button and Timothy Adams moved all in from one seat over for what looked like just under 400,000 chips. O'Dwyer didn't really ask for a count but rather quickly called and they tabled the cards.

Adams: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
O'Dwyer: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and ace-high scored the knockout. Adams stood up, sent his stack over to his table neighbor and left with a "good luck guys."

Charania Eliminated

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Mohsin Charania open shoved his last 72,000 to the middle from early position and cutoff Timofey Kuznetsov did the same with his stack. The other players all folded and it was time to put the cards on their backs.

Mohsin Charania: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Timofey Kuznetsov: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

Kuznetsov had the better hand, but would get out flopped pretty hard: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The {9-Diamonds} on the river was a scare card for Charania, but the {3-Clubs} on the river was a blank and the EPT Grand Final champion doubled up.

The next hand though, the two would clash again and this time things didn't go so well for Charania. He open shoved his 189,000 to the middle with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and got looked up by Kuznetsov who had {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Charania made his exit.
