Akery Busts Arsenyan

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The action started with a raise to 4,500 by Faraz Jaka and Gurgen Arsenyan called before Peter Akery made it 14,000 to go from the button at the very end of the previous level. On the {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, Arsenyan open-shoved for around 30,000 and Akery quickly called.

Arsenyan: {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair
Akery: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the overpair

Arsenyan shook his head, stood up from the table and tapped it. Neither the {9-Clubs} turn nor the {9-Diamonds} river changed anything and the Armenian was gone.

Erwann Pecheux has added some more chips to his stack, taking over the role of the boss at the same table.

Daher Does It Again

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Albert Daher
Albert Daher

Start-of-day chip leader Albert Daher has kicked it in to high gear now, and after seeing several others surpass him in the counts, he has climbed back on top.

The hand that pushed him over the top started with an Aleksei Platonov raise to 5,100. Ilan Suloman then came over the top with a three-bet to 13,000.

Daher wasted little time firing out a fourth bet, making it 32,000 to see a flop. Both players decided not to, and Daher picked up the dead money.

Moreira de Melo Fires All Streets

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Fatima Moreira de Melo opened to 5,100 from first position and was looked up in two spots. Both button Tomas Jozonis as big blind Dario Sammartino added the needed chips to see the flop of {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Sammartino checked, and saw Moreira de Melo bet 9,000. Both Jozonis as Sammartino called. Moreira de Melo's 28,000 bet on the {6-Hearts} turn was only called by Jozonis as Sammartino had seen enough and tossed his cards in the muck.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board and Moreira de Melo bet 55,000. Jozonis tanked long and hard, and eventually laid it down.

Seidel's Hand Holds Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Iacopo Brandi raised under the gun and found no less than 3 callers; Andrey Bondar (cutoff), the small blind, and Erik Seidel in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and both blinds checked to initial raiser Brandi. The Italian player checked as well and now it was Bondar doing the betting. The Russian player bet 13,500 and the small blind called. Erik Seidel check raised to 80,000 and initial raiser Brandi folded, holding his cards at one so high up, his neighbor could see he had {K-}{K-}.

Bondar now moved all in and the small blind folded. Seidel was happy to call.

Andrey Bondar: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Erik Seidel: {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Seidel had flopped the nuts and needed the board not to pair to knock out his opponent. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn and {5-Spades} on the river were good for Seidel and Bondar had to make his exit.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Boghean Busts Santi

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The cards of Eduardo Santi were already in the muck, but according to Pierre Calamusa he three-bet all in for 20 big blinds with pocket kings and Andrei Boghean called with {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. The Romanian found an almost perfect flop {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor {5-Clubs} river changed anything.

Pecheux Gets Big

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Former French player of the year Erwann Pecheux was sitting behind a decent stack already but has now doubled up big time. The cards were already rushed away, but the Frenchman was speaking with a French blogger to provide the details.

Pecheux was involved in a four-bet to 29,500 before the flop and then saw a {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-} flop, where he check-raised all in for 105,000 with {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. His opponent almost folded pocket aces including the {A-Spades} but eventually called. The turn was the {4-Spades} to complete Pecheux's flush while the {A-Clubs} river blanked.

Greenwood is Gone

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Down to what looked like 26,000, Luc Greenwood got his stack in with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and [Removed:37] looked him up very quickly from one seat over holding {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and the kicker played to send the Canadian out of the tournament.

Abdellatif Doesn't Have to Show

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From early position, Ivan Soshnikov raised to 5,000 and on the button Jonathan Abdellatif made the call. The big blind came along as well and the three got {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to work with. The big blind checked and Soshnikov continued for 6,700. Abdellatif, who went deep in the EPT Barcelona Main Event at the beginning of the season (30th for €32,125), made the call, the big blind folded.

The {6-Spades} on the turn saw Soshnikov bet another 17,600. Abdellatif called again and the {8-Spades} completed the board. Soshnikov now checked, and folded to Abdellatif's bet of 12,300.
