Andersen a No Show

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

It remains unclear what happened to Tina Andersen, but she has not shown up yesterday or today after bagging up more than average stack on Day 1. Her stack is quickly blinded down and she just lost the big blind as well to be forced all in within the next orbit.

Cody Doubles; Remains Short

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The cards of Dario Sammartino were already in the muck and the TV crew headed away from the table. Jake Cody from one seat over doubled up his tiny stack with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} on a board of {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Gerriste Busts to Nishijima

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ariel Mantel and Dirk Gerritse have been eliminated, the latter sent his stack over to Thiago Nishijima.

Nishijima raised to 8,000 and Gerritse three-bet all in for 118,500 from the small blind. The bracelet winner from Brazil asked the dealer twice for the amount and then made the call while the TV crew rushed by to record the action.

Gerritse: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Nishijima: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

There was no help on the board {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and that was it for Gerritse.

Moreira de Melo Climbing

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

Koichi Nozaki limped the small blind and Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo checked her option in the big blind.

They both checked the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, but when Nozaki checked the {j-Hearts} turn, Moreira de Melo fired out a bet of 5,000. Nozaki folded with a smile as Moreira de Melo showed the {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Despite winning the minimum with her two pair, the pot did push Moreira de Melo up over 400,000 for the first time as the money-bubble looms.

Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

It was a battle of American traveling pros when Kyle Frey made it 9,500 and Faraz Jaka three-bet the big blind, making it 21,500 total.

Frey called the bet, sending them heads-up to a {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, but when Jaka led for 14,000, Frey mucked his hand.

"Felt like something big there," Frey said, as Jaka raked in the pot.

Chris Dowling
Chris Dowling

While we're not on the official bubble yet with 169 players remaining and 159 places paid, it must feel like a bubble double for Chris Dowling who seems to be safe to get paid after this hand.

Ivan Deyra just raised to 9,000 and from his left Dowling three-bet to 23,500. The action folded to Deyra and he put Dowling all in for 86,500 total.

Dowling: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Deyra: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Dowling doubled up.
