Pecheux and Moreira de Melo Win Some

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Fatima Moreira de Melo won some chips back when she opened {Q-}{Q-} and picked up two callers. The three of them checked the {A-}{2-}{2-} flop, whereafter Moreira de Melo got two streets of value on the {Q-} turn (24,000) and {8-} river (70,000) from one opponent. Moreira de Melo's turned set of queens was good as her opponent mucked.

Not much later she was again involved in a pot, though this time she wouldn't be seeing the river.

Erwann Pecheux raised under the gun to 10,000 and his neighbor Igor Pihela called. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Moreira de Melo checked. Pecheux bet 11,000 and both Pihela and Moreira de Melo called.

The {3-Clubs} on the turn saw Moreira de Melo check again, and Pecheux fired 38,000. Pihela called, Moreira de Melo folded. The {9-Diamonds} saw Pecheux fire a third time, 64,500 this time. Pihela called, but mucked upon seeing Pecheux's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Danchev Crippled and Busted in Cruel Fashion

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Dimitar Danchev, Yucel Eminoglu and Kristen Bicknell checked a flop of {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and the {9-Hearts} came on the turn. Eminoglu bet, Bicknell called, and Danchev raised, forcing Eminoglu to fold. Bicknell then jammed more than 120,000, and Danchev snap-called.

Bicknell: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Danchev: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

It was set over set, but the {9-Clubs} river was the one outer for Bicknell, giving him quads and the double up in spectacular fashion. Danchev was crippled to 11,000 and busted straight after.

Reinkemeier No More

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After having just doubled not long ago, Tobias Reinkemeier dropped back to only 29,000 and got those in from the small blind. Initial raiser David Susigan called, as did Jeremy Palvini from the button.

The two Frenchman checked down a board {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Reinkemeier showed {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, Susigan the {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a straight and Palvini mucked {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Palvini had another setback shortly after, losing ace-jack to ace-jack after his opponent made a runner runner four card flush for 107,000 on a {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop.

Jaka and Abernathy Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Faraz Jaka and Andrew Abernathy were among the most recent casualties and there are just 128 players remaining.

Jaka open-shoved his last 55,000 from the cutoff with {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Kyle Frey called in the big blind with {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

Just prior to that, Andrew Abernathy shoved for around 60,000 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and Paul-Francois Tedeschi called with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. The flip was all but over on the {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and Abernathy left to runner runner outs. It was all over on the {J-Diamonds} turn, making the {3-Clubs} river a formality.
