Finianos Doubles Through Coulier

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On the {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Youssef Finianos bet 22,000 from the cutoff and table neighbor Arne Coulier jammed to put his opponent at risk for 109,000. The Lebanese called it off with the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Coulier showed {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Neither the {J-Diamonds} turn nor the {10-Clubs} river changed anything and Finianos doubled.

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

Jonathan Abdellatif had just doubled up Benjamin Pollak after which he got involved in a pot versus him again. Pollak raised before the flop and Abdellatif called from the big blind, putting {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} out on the flop.

Abdellatif check-raised all in for 60,000 total and Pollak made the call.

Pollak: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Abdellatif: {K-}{9-}

The turn brought the {3-Spades} and the river the {7-Clubs} to give Pollak a flush. Abdellatif shook his head as he waited to get paid out, and Pollak now sits on 230,000.

Eminoglu Gets it in Good; Runs Bad

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

"I never win against king queen or king jack," Yucel Eminoglu said after the hand was over and table neighbor Alexandre Luneau stacked his double up on the short stack.

Eminoglu had the Frenchman at risk with {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} versus {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Luneau got there on the board {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Babero Busts Wettstein; Loses Some After

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Nacho Barbero opened from early position and called a three-bet by Philippe Wettstein out of the blinds to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Wettstein continued for 23,000 and Barbero called. Steven van Zadelhoff said that Wettstein then bet the {K-Clubs} turn and shoved the {A-Diamonds} river with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} to get called by Barbero with {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} in order to hit the rail.

Soon after, Barbero raised to 13,000 and Andrea Rocci flat-called from middle position, as did van Zadelhoff on the button, Aaron Gustavson and the big blind. On the {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Barbero continued for 26,000 and just Rocci called to see the {K-Hearts} turn. Both players checked and Barbero's bet worth 47,000 on the {8-Hearts} river.

Rocci quickly called and Barbero's {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} ended up second best to the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} of Rocci.

I Need A Hero

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

There's a new sheriff in town and it's the UK's Matthew Davenport.

He made it 48,000 from the small blind facing a Marko Neumann 15,000-chip open under the gun. The German player called, and they went heads-up to a {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. Davenport continued for 33,000 and Neumann called yet again.

The turn brought out the {a-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {5-Spades} river. Davenport checked again, then went deep into the think-tank when Neumann slid out a bet of 77,000.

Eventually he decided to call with the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}, and he was right, Neumann was bluffing with the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Selbst Busts Seidel

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

A 13,000 late position raise prompted Erik Seidel to push his last 54,000 in. Small blind Vanessa Selbst cold four bet to 105,000 which made the big blind and initial raiser both fold.

Vanessa Selbst: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Erik Seidel: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop was already bringing some heat on Seidel's pair of deuces, and the {9-Diamonds} on the turn brought Selbst even more outs. The {10-Diamonds} on the river was one of the cards she needed to hit to bust him, and Seidel got up from the table and made his way to the exit.

Come Back of the Century?

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joao Vieira got up from the table and told us he had 33,000, while minutes ago he had just 2,000 left. Vieira told us he had pushed his last 67,000 in holding {A-}{10-} suited, and was looked up by Dermot Blain with {J-}{J-}. The {J-}{8-}{5-}{10-}{3-} board didn't help Vieira and the Portuguese high roller was left with less than a small blind. Some miraculeus double ups later and he's back to 33,000. That's still just 5.5 big blinds, but could be the beginning of the comeback of the century.
