Sammartino Doubles Through Philipps

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The action just folded to Dario Sammartino who limped from the small blind, onto Ben Philipps' big blind. Philipps moved all in, and Sammartino called off his stack for a total of 1,010,000.

Sammartino: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Philipps: {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Sammartino doubled back into things after having been short for a long time.

More For Abduraimov

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Pierre Calamusa raised to 110,000 under the gun plus one with {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Adrien Allain three-bet from the cutoff to 330,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Enver Abduraimov was next to act, and with {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} he put in 1,025,000.

Both Calamusa and Allain folded, giving another pot to the Ukrainian player.

Calamusa Bluffs Into Abduraimov's Set

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Pierre Calamusa raised to 100,000 from the button with {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Enver Abduraimov called from the big blind with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

The flop brought out {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Abduraimov flopped a set, and checked to Calamusa. Calamusa bet 115,000 and Abduraimov check-raised to 315,000.

Calamusa tanked for a bit before making it 900,000, and Abduraimov made it appear as though he had a really tough decision. After a while though he moved all in, and Calamus folded right away.

Loc Tu Eliminated in 12th Place (€53,310)

From the cutoff, Oren Rosen raised to 120,000. His neighbor on the button Jan Bendik folded but small blind Loc Tu three-bet to 290,000. Antoine Saout folded his big blind and Rosen made the call.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Rosen made a bet of 360,000, leaving himself exactly 500,000 behind. Rosen didn't waste much time shoving all in and Tu went into the tank.

"Will you show if I fold?" asked Tu.

When Rosen didn't respond, Tu eventually slid forward his single tower of chips.

Oren Rosen: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Loc Tu: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Tu was in trouble and needed help fast. The {7-Spades} on the turn and {8-Diamonds} on the river weren't the cards he was looking for though, and he made his exit in 12th place.

The €10 Spin & Go qualifier took home €53,310 for his performance, guaranteeing the remaining 11 players €59,500.

Joao Vieira Eliminated in 13th Place (€53,310)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

On Day 3 of the Main Event, Joao Vieira made an incredible comeback. Today he couldn't repeat that amazing performance. After being knocked down by Jan Bendik in a cooler situation, he would lose the remainder of his chips two hands later after suffering a bad beat.

Vieira opened for 110,000 first to act, and saw hijack Jimmy Guerrero three-bet to 260,000. Action folded back to Vieira and he shoved all in for around 550,000. Guerrero snap called.

Joao Viera: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Jimmy Guerrero: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Guerrero asked the rest of the table if they had folded an ace, but nobody had. The {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop was still good for Vieira, but the {a-Hearts} on the turn sure wasn't and left him with a single out to draw to. The {2-Hearts} on the river wasn't that one card he needed and he made his exit in 13th place, worth €53,310.

Bendik Scores Huge Double

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jan Bendik
Jan Bendik

Joao Vieira raised to 115,000 from the hijack and small blind Oren Rosen made the call. Big blind Jan Bendik squeezed to 365,000 and Vieira shoved all in. Rosen folded, Bendik was quick to call.

Joao Vieira: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Jan Bendik: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop left Vieira hoping for just runner runner, but he was already drawing dead after the {7-Spades} hit the turn. The {8-Hearts} on the river was a blank and Bendik doubled his 1,665,000 stack.

Vieira is left with just over half a million, but he's made a comeback from a worse position already this tournament so don't count him out just yet.

Umarov's Set Holds Against Allain's Flush Draw

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Adrien Allain raised under the gun to 85,000 with {8-Spades}{9-Spades} and Dario Sammartino called from the cutoff with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Asan Umarov called from the small blind with {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Pierre Calamusa was pulled into the pot from the big blind with {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

The flop brought out {3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades} and both blinds checked to Allain who bet 180,000, and Sammartino folded right away. Umarov moved all in for 930,000, and after Calamusa folded Allain called right away.

Allain: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Umarov: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} giving Umarov a winning full house, and the {7-Hearts} was a formality.

Loc Tu Doubles With Set Over Set

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

From early position, Oren Rosen raised to 90,000 and from the cutoff. Loc Tu three-bet all in for 665,000 and action folded back to Rosen. He asked for a count, thought about it for a bit, and tossed in a single 5,000-chip to indicate he was calling.

Oren Rosen: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Loc Tu: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The window-card was the {4-Clubs}, followed by the {5-Hearts} and {8-Hearts}. Rosen said "Yes! Yes!" while he awaited the turn.

He said "Wow! Wow!" now that the {Q-Hearts} made his flopped set useless.

The {3-Spades} completed the board and now it was time for Tu to say "Ohhh wow!"
