Kitai and Leonard Discuss Ranges During the Hand

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Davidi Kitai and Patrick Leonard just had a lengthy discussion about the possible range of Leonard whilst in the hand.

Preflop 16,000 chips went to the middle and besides Kitai and Leonard, also Nariman Yaghmai came along.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Kitai put out a bet of 6,600 and both his opponents called. The {Q-Clubs} landed on the turn and it was checked through.

The dealer turned over the {K-Hearts} on the river and Kitai checked before Leonard bet 20,000. Yaghmai went in the tank for a minute but folded his hand.

Now it was Kitai's turn to take his time and like some clashes before, Leonard started talking to him.

"You not gonna raise me this time", he said.

"You'll never know, you'll fold again", Kitai replied.

This was the started of a five-minute discussion about Leonard's range. "There's more chance you have a king than an ace", Kitai told his opponent.

Leonard wasn't so sure about that and started summing up all the possible hand he could have. Eventually, he asked the floor of he could show one of his cards. "You gonna get a penalty for that", the floor woman responded.

"It's heads-up why isn't it allowed", Philipp Gruissem asked, but he didn't get a clear answer to that question. He then turned over to Kitai and said: "It's enough now."

It wasn't Gruissem, but Mateos, who asked the clock.

Kitai folded with ten seconds left to act and Leonard showed the {3-Spades}.

Martin Kozlov
Martin Kozlov

It was folded around to Scott Seiver on the button and he made it 4,000 to go. In the small blind, Martin Kozlov looked at his card and shoved all-in right away.

Andras Nemeth, sitting in the big blind, asked for a count and the all-in was for 27,700 in total. Nemeth then repushed and Seiver quickly got out of the way.

Kozlov: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Nemeth: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Kozlov needed to hit to survive, but the {7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} board didn't give him the help he wanted.

Small Pot for Kolonias

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dario Sammartino raised to 3,500 and picked up two callers in Alexandros Kolonias from one seat over as well as Sam Greenwood in the big blind. The trio checked down the board {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} entirely. Greenwood flipped over the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Sammartino the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Kolonias claimed the small pot with the {8-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Seiver Bullies Buddiga

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

In a blind vs. blind confrontation, Pratyush Buddiga and Scott Seiver saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} appear. Buddiga bet out 2,000 and Seiver called. On the {A-Diamonds} turn, Buddiga checked, Seiver bet 5,200, and Buddiga called.

The river brought the {9-Spades} and after Buddiga checked, Seiver bet a whopping 25,000. It visibly pained the EPT Barcelona €25,500 Single Day High Roller winner, who tanked for two minutes before committing the calling chips.

Seiver rolled over {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for fives full of aces, taking a large chunk of his countryman's stack in the process.

Bujtas and Drinan on the Rail

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Connor Drinan
Connor Drinan

At almost the same time and on different tables, Connor Drinan and Laszlo Bujtas have been eliminated. Bujtas lost with pocket fours against the pocket sixes of Oleksii Khoroshenin, there was a four on the flop and a six on the river.

Then, Drinan defended his big blind against the under-the-gun raise of Max Silver. Drinan check-raised all in for around 45,000 on the {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and Silver looked him up with the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Drinan had {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the double gutshot, but failed to improve with the {10-Diamonds} turn and the {2-Diamonds} river.

"Good luck guys, it was fun," he added before grabbing his belongings and heading to the rail. Silver and Khoroshenin are among the candidates for the chip lead after Day 1 at the end of this level.

Zinno Eliminated by Schemion

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Anthony Zinno had only 15,000 left and just moved all-in. One seat over Ole Schemion quickly called and the cards were on their back.

Zinno: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Schemion: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

It was a race, but Schemion seemed convinced he was going to win this hand. "Thanks for the good deal", he told the dealer, who was about to get replaced.

"Don't do the fast flop", Zinno asked. "Do it slowly."

The dealer did his own routine, quickly spreading out the {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{J-Spades}. Zinno was still ahead, but the {A-Spades} on the turn changed everything. He now needed a four to stay alive, but the {Q-Clubs} river didn't help him out.

"One more", Schemion asked, while Zinno stood up from his chair.

"This was my second bullet already", Zinno replied.

"Ah well, good game", was the Germans response.

Troyanovskiy Doubles Through Carrel

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

It was Charlie Carrel who got the action started with a raise to 3,000. Only to see Vladimir Troyanovskiy boost it up to 8,000 from the button. Dario Sammartino and Alexandros Kolonias folded their blinds, but Carrel made the call.

Carrel check-raised an 8,000 bet from Troyanovskiy to 16,000 on the {4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop. Troyanovskiy gave it some thought but eventually called.

The Russian then moved all-in for 24,100 on the {6-Spades} turn and Carrel paid him off.

Troyanovskiy: {3-Spades}{5-Spades}
Carrel: {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Carrel needed a club to beat Troyanovskiy flopped straight, but the {7-Spades} river wasn't good enough for him. Troyanovskiy doubled with a somewhat unexpected hand.

"Great three-bet", Carrel said, while laughing to his opponent.

"Good call", was the swift response.
