O'Dwyer Gets Grospellier to Fold

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Bertrand Grospellier opened to 16,000 and Steve O'Dwyer defended his big blind, then immediately checked the flop of {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}. Grospellier checked behind and the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn. O'Dwyer checked, Grospellier bet 22,000 and then faced the check-raise all in by the defending champion. Grospellier elected to fold and dropped to around 20 big blinds.

Kanit Leaves Troyanovskiy Short

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After a three-way flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, Anthony Zinno checked in the big blind and Mustapha Kanit bet 18,000 in the hijack. Vladimir Troyanovskiy called on the button and Zinno folded.

The {6-Diamonds} came on the turn and Kanit bet 34,000, Troyanovskiy called. And a third barrel worth 90,000 by the Italian on the {6-Hearts} was once again called by Troyanovskiy, who then mucked when Kanit showed him {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a flush. Troyanovskiy was left short, shoved the next hand and claimed the blinds and antes.

Carrel Busts Lebedev

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We found Sergey Lebedev all in from the cutoff for 107,000, just a bit under the size of the pot. The board read {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades}, and Charlie Carrel was considering whether to call or fold out of the small blind. He pulled out his sunglasses as if they would help him get a read, playfully putting them on and trying to give his opponent the staredown. Lebedev responded by throwing his hood over his head and turning it sideways so his face was completely blocked.

"I'm counting out the right amount to call," Carrel announced.

Eventually, the clock was called and Carrel did throw in calling chips.

Carrel: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Lebedev: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Lebedev needed help with his flush draw and overcard, but the {3-Clubs} river was a brick.

Kozlov Busts Bonomo

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

Action folded to Justin Bonomo in the cutoff and he pushed all in for 95,000. Martin Kozlov, his neighbor on the button, tanked for a bit before he reshoved. Both blinds released rather quickly.

Justin Bonomo: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Martin Kozlov: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Bonomo made his exit. Kozlov, meanwhile, is up to almost 300,000.

Max Silver Eliminated by Viacheslav Buldygin

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Viacheslav Buldygin opened the action with a raise to 13,000 and Max Silver three-bet to 38,000 from the button with a stack just shy of 200,000 in total. The players in the blinds got out of the way and Buldygin then moved all in, Silver called it off and had a flip for his tournament life.

Max SIlver: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Viacheslav Buldygin: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Neither the {10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop nor the {9-Clubs} turn changed anything and Silver was left with six outs only. A blank {6-Hearts} on the river ended his tournament and he shook hands with Buldygin before exiting the area.

Haxton Takes from Thomas

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Isaac Haxton raised to 15,000 from the button and Julian Thomas three-bet to 50,000 in the small blind. Haxton called and the flop came {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Thomas continued for 30,000 and Haxton called before the {Q-Spades} on the turn brought no betting action. On the {K-Spades} river, Thomas checked again and Haxton considered his options for a good minute before betting 125,000.

That was enough to force a fold from Thomas and the pot was shipped to Haxton. In table chat, Thomas mentioned shortly after that he had just been bluffed and Haxton just smiled back at him.

Helppi Builds Stack

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

After doubling up through Vojtech Ruzicka, Viacheslav Buldygin started to become more active on his table and raised twice then folded against resistance by Juha Helppi. The Finn proceeded to win another pot against Buldygin and Konstantin Uspenskiy to further boost his stack.

Buldygin raised to 13,000 from the hijack and Uspenskiy called in the cutoff, as did Helppi on the button. On the three-way flop of {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Buldygin checked and Uspenskiy bet 20,000. Only Helppi called and the {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Now Uspenskiy checked, then folded when Helppi bet 30,000.

Haxton Pushes

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From first position, Leon Tsoukernik limped in for 6,000. From the hijack, Timothy Adams raised to 21,000 and over in the small blind sat Isaac Haxton who cold reraised to 88,000. Big blind Julian Thomas and Leon Tsoukernik folded, Adams called.

Haxton bet 50,000 on {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Adams called. Both players then checked the {6-Diamonds} on the turn before Haxton pushed on the {J-Hearts} river. Adams tanked for a bit before he folded.

Another Double for Fatehi

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We're not entirely sure when the money went in, but Ali Reza Fatehi just doubled again. This time he had {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} all-in against the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} of Justin Bonomo on a board of {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Bonomo, who just sat down this morning after having finished fifth for $345,272 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic Main Event just two days ago, is down to 75,000.
