Alexandros Kolonias Hits the Rail

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Alexandros Kolonias
Alexandros Kolonias

Action folded to Jean-Noel Thorel in the cutoff and he opened to 46,000. Alexandros Kolonias, on the button, tanked for a bit before he announced all-in for about 160,000. Ben Heath folded his small blind right away, Ali Reza Fatehi needed some more time to let go of his big blind but eventually did fold too. Thorel called right away.

Alexandros Kolonias: {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop just about sealed the deal for Thorel and he had Kolonias drawing dead on the {5-Spades}-turn. The {10-Hearts} on the river was there just to make things official.

"I made mistake," Thorel said while raking in the chips.

Fatehi was happy Thorel had made the mistake of opening a bit bigger than usual, as he claimed to have folded pocket eights before the flop.

With the exit of Kolonias, the tournament is now down to 24 players. Redraw information is to follow.

Yan Quadruples Up

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Daniel Dvoress raised to 25,000 from the cutoff and [Removed:17] called all in for his last 15,000 on the button. Isaac Haxton called in the small blind and Julian Thomas came along out of the big blind. "You all hate me?" Yan joked before the flop fell {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Haxton as well as Thomas checked. Dvoress bet 25,000 and Haxton folded before Thomas check-raised to 100,000.

That got Dvoress out of the way and the cards were tabled.

[Removed:17]: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Julian Thomas: {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {K-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river were both blanks and Yan quadrupled up his short stack. "Nobody hates you," Thomas replied after all was done and one hand was still going on.

Aldemir Forces O'Dwyer to Fold

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Koray Aldemir - Steve O'Dwyer
Koray Aldemir - Steve O'Dwyer

The last hand still going before the final 24 players could redraw to the last three tables was a battle of the blinds between Koray Aldemir and Steve O'Dwyer. A big pot had already emerged to the {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} turn and Aldemir bet 79,000 in the small blind. O'Dwyer called and the duo then saw the {A-Hearts} appear on the river.

Aldemir now fired 220,000, around half the stack of O'Dwyer, and the defending EPT Prague Super High Roller champion folded after spending two minutes in the think tank.

Yan Finished Off

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

[Removed:17]'s bid to come back from barely more than a big blind ended when he jammed about 80,000 in early and got looked up by big blind Julian Thomas.

Thomas: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Yan: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, meaning a queen would now give Yan a straight. Thomas called for that queen after the {10-Clubs} turn but a {7-Clubs} river missed Yan.

"Why a queen?" someone asked.

"Because I like him."

Chop It Up!

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Leon Tsoukernik limped from middle position and Vojtech Ruzicka over limped on the button. Big blind Isaac Haxton checked.

Haxton and Tsoukernik checked on {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Ruzicka bet 25,000. Haxton called, Tsoukernik folded.

The {Q-Hearts} on the turn saw Haxton bet out 15,000. Ruzicka tanked for a bit before he called.

With the {2-Diamonds} completing the board, Haxton checked. Ruzicka thought about it for a minute or two before he checked behind. Haxton showed {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Ruzicka tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Chop it up!

Aldemir Takes from Leonard

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Patrick Leonard raised to 22,000 and Koray Aldemir defended his big blind to see a flop of {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Aldemir checked and Leonard continued for 16,000. Aldemir then check-raised to 57,000 and Leonard carefully cut out his stack, counted it, and folded.

Buldygin Fires Three Barrels Against Carrel

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Viacheslav Buldygin
Viacheslav Buldygin

Ali Reza Fatehi opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Viacheslav Buldygin three-bet to 55,000 in the hijack. Charlie Carrel on the button asked for the stack sizes of both opponents and then called, while the blinds folded and Fatehi also quickly let go.

On the flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Buldygin made it 80,000 to go and Carrel called before doing so again for another 155,000 on the {J-Hearts} turn. The {8-Hearts} then appeared on the river and Buldygin bet 250,000.

"I am not raising, 250 or zero," Carrel added and tried to get some information from his opponent. Another two minutes passed and Carrel said "I have queens, a bad hand to have," and was yet to make a decision. Anthony Zinno, who was sitting between Buldygin and Carrel, mentioned to the Brit "a friendly one minute clock" without asking for time yet.

Eventually, Carrel folded and dropped below a million.

Ruzicka Folds With a Sigh

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel limped early and saw Vojtech Ruzicka pop it to 35,000. Action folded back to Kabrhel, and he shoved all in after getting a count of Ruzicka's remaining chips: 215,000.

"Can I get a count?" Ruzicka asked.

"I have more than you!" Kabrhel exclaimed.

"Can you at least put all your chips together; this is so annoying," Ruzicka said with a sigh before folding, referencing Kabrhel's separate stack of mostly big chips beneath his hippo figurine.

After the hand, the dealer did ask Kabrhel to at least make it so all of the chips beneath the hippo were the same denomination.
