The first all in and call on the bubble saw three players at risk on three different tables.
Hand 1
Kyosti Isberg raised to 7,000 and Mykhailo Gutyi moved all in for 22,300 from the hijack, Isberg called.
Mykhailo Gutyi:
Kyosti Isberg:
The board ran out and Gutyi doubled.
Hand 2
Zvi Stern was at risk for just 15,700 on the button and Janos Kurtosi, who had previously doubled through Stern in a huge pot, looked him up by isolating from middle position.
Zvi Stern:
Janos Kurtosi:
The board came and the 2015 November Niner doubled as well.
Hand 3
The turn showed and Anton Petrov bet 11,000. Pedro Lamarca raised to 41,000 and Petrov then moved all in for 156,200. Lamarca eventually called and both players showed two pair.
Anton Petrov:
Pedro Lamarca:
The rail was rooting for a six or three, but the river was a blank and Petrov also doubled.
At a table on the very edge of the room, Espen Solaas was all in for approximately 80,000 and at risk against Apostolos Bechrakis, who held . Solaas needed a lot of help since he was dominated with and the flop was the opposite of that. His best hope was a chop, but that was over after the turn left him out the door.
The tournament is now in hand for hand mode with 233 players left or two away from the money. If no-one is eliminated before today's final level is completed in the next 25 minutes, all players will return tomorrow with two finishing outside the money.
If just one player is eliminated, Day 2 will play down until the bubble is broken instead of bringing everyone back tomorrow and having one player walk away without a cash.
If two or more players are eliminated, the tournament will no longer be in hand for hand mode.
The tournament screens show 234 players remaining and the clock has been stopped to verify the field size, as only the top 231 spots will share a portion of the massive prize pool. There are around 26 minutes left on the clock for the day.
Pedro Lamarca opened to 9,000 and Jens Lakemeier moved all in for 52,100 on the button. The action folded to Steffen Sontheimer in the small blind, who called all in for 15,000. Lakemeier called as well and put yet another two players at risk.
Steffen Sontheimer:
Jens Lakemeier:
Pedro Lamarca:
The board ran out and Lamarca dodged the straight and flush draws of both Germans to knock out yet another two opponents just shy of the money.
Jason Wheeler put in almost all of his stack from under the gun, which looked to be around 25,000. Action folded to the small blind, where Jonathan Abdellatif pushed all in to put both the big blind and Wheeler at risk. The big blind folded and Wheeler began to tank. With just a handful of eliminations left to the money bubble, Wheeler admitted he wanted to see if the number of players dropped. It did drop, so he declared someone was going to have to call the clock.
"I wouldn't fuck around if we were in a $2K," he said. "But $7,500 is a lot of weed money."
After another minute or two, he said he was giving himself a 30-second clock. At that point, Wheeler did put in his remaining 3,000.
Wheeler:
Abdellatif:
Wheeler urged the dealer to double him up, and the man did just that with an board.
After a raise by Aleksey Ponakov and a call by Artur Rudziankov, Vanessa Selbst defended her big blind after having previously lost a big pot. The flop fell and Selbst checked. Ponakov continued for 9,000 and Rudziankov called, then Selbst check-raised all in for 24,700.
Ponakov reraised to force a fold from Rudziankov and Selbst was in desperate shape.
Vanessa Selbst:
Aleksey Ponakov:
The turn and river however completed a runner runner flush to let Selbst double less than 10 spots away from the money. Rudziankov said "if you just call, I am getting there also, I had ace jack of clubs."
Ari Engel raised to 6,500 and Daniel Dvoress called from two seats over. Mike Brandau then moved all in for 80,400 from the cutoff and Engel folded. Dvoress asked for the all in amount quickly followed by "ace king again?" After spending three minutes in the think tank, Dvoress called.
Mike Brandau:
Daniel Dvoress:
The board came and Brandau doubled up, taking one third of Dvoress' stack.
Tony Dunst got his remaining chips in the middle with on a ten-high board but was up against the of an opponent in the blinds, who we were told check-called the flop and check-jammed the turn. Dunst didn't catch on the river.
Pedro Lamarca raised to 6,500 and Jens Lakemeier called, Epstathios Kavoukis then three-bet to 28,000 from the cutoff. Short stack Christian Thiry called all in out of the blinds and Lamarca moved all in with the far biggest stack at the table. Kavoukis eventually called it off for what looked like 150,000 and the three players tabled their cards.
Christian Thiry:
Epstathios Kavoukis:
Pedro Lamarca:
The board ran out and Lamarca knocked out two opponents, further increasing his already huge stack.
