Sekiya and Banicevic Out

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Yang Zhang opened from the hijack and then called the shove of a short-stacked Vlado Banicevic, who had only about 30,000.

Banicevic: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Zhang: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out dead for both and the ace-high stood.

At a neighboring table, Yosuke Sekiya lost his remaining chips.

Leonard Busts to Yang

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Patrick Leonard
Patrick Leonard

Two short stacks clashed in Renjun Yang from under the gun and Patrick Leonard on the button. Leonard had around 45,000 and was at risk with {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}, while Yang had the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} with the dominating kicker.

The board came {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the kicker played to eliminate Leonard.

Czuczor Shows One

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Marton Czuczor led out for 64,000 in a battle of the blinds with Thomas Muehloecker on fourth street. The {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades} was on the felt, and Muehloecker called after some consideration. On the {5-Clubs} river, Czuczor shoved all in for 125,500. Muehloecker asked if Czuczor would show one if he folded. Czuczor said nothing and the Austrian did eventually fold.

The other players desperately tried to get Czuczor to show a bluff, and he eventually allowed them to flip one card: {q-Diamonds}. Everyone concluded it was surely a bluff.

"You're a very brave man, doing this against Tom," Matas Cimbolas said.

Petrushevskii Shows Kings; Franczak Flops Well to Bust Toth

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After a four-bet pot preflop between Ramin Hajiyev and Sergei Petrushevskii that saw both players invest 80,000, the flop came {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Petrushevskii quickly shoved.

"I was hoping for ace or king on the flop to make it an easy fold," Hajiyev said, then let go.

His opponent asked "you folded jacks?" before flashing his {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

On a neighboring table, Piotr Franczak shoved for around 75,000 from the cutoff with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Richard Toth called in the big blind for slightly less with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The flop of {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} gave Franczak the nut flush, making both the {7-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river meaningless.

Kabrhel Gets Two-Outered on the Feature Table

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A pot of just over 100,000 emerged on the feature table with the turn showing {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Friedrich Meyer shoved for 95,000. Martin Kabrhel called and Meyer was in bad shape.

Friedrich Meyer: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Martin Kabrhel: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The magic {9-Diamonds} on the river let Meyer jump out of the chair and take a quick walk to the rail before returning to stack his chips after the big double up.

Bujtas Loses Flip to Margereson

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Scott Margereson
Scott Margereson

Laszlo Bujtas moved all in for his last 46,000 and the action folded all the way around to Scott Margereson, who quickly called.

Bujtas had the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Margereson took the flip with {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop improved Bujtas, but the {9-Diamonds} turn left the Hungarian drawing dead. A meaningless {5-Clubs} on the river was just a formality and Bujtas headed to the rail.

Fabian's Aces Beat Rocci's Deuces

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

In the cutoff, Stefan Fabian, one of the bubble double players from the end of Day 2, opened to 12,000 from the cutoff. Andrea Rocci shoved from one seat over for what looked like 100,000 and the action folded back to Fabian. He didn't even ask for a count, but called instantly.

Andrea Rocci: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Stefan Fabian: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} and Rocci was eliminated.
