Boivin Wins a Raising War

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Thomas Boivin looked to have gotten in a raising war with Charlie Carrel in the cutoff versus button, respectively. Boivin had 14,000 in front of him and was faced with another raise to 23,000. Boivin jammed and Carrel snap-folded with a laugh.

At another table, Steve O'Dwyer won a sizable pot barreling for pot, about 10,000, from the small blind into three opponents on {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Only Oleh Okhotskyi called, from early position, and the river was the {j-Hearts}. O'Dwyer potted again and this time took the pot down.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 5 : 250/500, 500 ante

Steve O'Dwyer (first entry) and Akin Tuna (reentry) pushed the total number to 28 as the players head for the final break of the night.

Okhotskyi Takes a Big One

Level 5 : 250/500, 500 ante

Two players limped in and Preben Stokkan made it 3,700 in the small blind. Orpen Kisacikoglu called in the big blind and both limpers came along for {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Stokkan continued for 8,000. Kisacikoglu called and Oleh Okhotskyi almost immediately jammed for 44,500. Action folded to Kisacikoglu, who used two extensions before folding as well.

Boivin Gets Paid by Tuna

Level 5 : 250/500, 500 ante

Akin Tuna and Matthias Eibinger checked to Thomas Boivin with 23,000 already in the pot and {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts} on the felt. Boivin bet 10,000 and only Tuna, in the small blind, called. On the {10-Diamonds} river, Tuna checked. Boivin used a time extension and then bet 25,000, nearly all of his remaining chips. Tuna used his own extension before calling.

Boivin tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for fives full and took down the huge pot.

Castro Busts Grafton's First Shell

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Guenter Castro
Guenter Castro

Sam Grafton put in a four-bet shove worth exactly 27,000 from under the gun, and Guenter Castro, who had three-bet on his left, seemed to have a tough decision. He tanked long enough to use two extensions and seemed to be holding his cards as if to fold but then slid in a stack of chips.

Guenter Castro: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Sam Grafton: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

"Unlucky," Grafton said. "Unlucky situation, I mean!"

As if he jinxed himself, Grafton saw an ugly {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop, meaning he needed runner-runner or a king. The {7-Spades} and {2-Spades} didn't do it.
