Winkler Loses To Khangah

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ahadpur Khangah raised to 2,500 from mid-position and was called by Martin Winkler and Liang Xu in the blinds.

They all checked through the {9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop to see the {3-Clubs} being turned. Winkler bet 4,000 and only Khangah called.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs}, Winkler now barreled 11,000 over the line. Khangah confirmed the amount with the dealer and then made the call.

"You win." Winkler said, ready to muck his cards.

Khangah tabled {k-Spades}{9-Spades} and Winkler mucked indeed.

"Perfect, nice call." Winkler complimented Khangah.

"Thank you," Khangah replied while adding the newly won chips to his stack.

Tuan Tran
Tuan Tran

Tuan Tran bet 12,500 from the small blind on an {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and Elias Talvitie called in the hijack. Tran bet 23,000 on the {3-Clubs} and Talvitie called once again. On the {6-Spades} river, Tran checked and Talvitie bet 65,000. Tran thought briefly and flicked in a chip but Talvitie showed {j-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flush.

Wrong Room

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

As Sam Grafton took his seat, Orpen Kisacikoglu shouted over: "Sam! You're in the wrong room! The 1k is downstairs!"

As the whole field laughed, including Grafton himself, he replied: "WOW! You're going to pay for that!"

The spirit among the players is as friendly and easy going as usual in the early stages of the Super High Roller tournaments.

Winkler Starting Hot

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Martin Winkler was in the small blind in what looked to be a three-way, three-bet pot. He bet 40,000, about the size of the pot, on {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Only Lucas Reeves, on the button called. Both players checked the {7-Spades} and {3-Spades} and Winkler announced queens, tabling {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to take it down.

Sam Grafton sauntered in and grabbed a seat to make both tables full.

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tuan Tran raised to 3,000 from the small blind and Orpen Kisacikoglu called in the big blind.

They both checked through the {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} on the flop to the {q-Diamonds} on the turn. Tran bet another 3,000 which Kisacikoglu called.

The river completed the board with the {4-Clubs}, Tran threw in a bet of 35,000 and Kisacikoglu snap-folded.

Talvitie Shoves River

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tuan Tran opened under the gun for 2,500 and got one call form Matthias Eibinger before Elias Talvitie made it 11,000 on the button. It went three ways to the {2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop and action checked to Talvitie. He bet 8,000 and only Tran continued. Tran check-called 37,000 on the {7-Spades}, bringing an {a-Hearts} river. That prompted him to bet 47,000 but he tank-folded to a shove from Talivitie that looked to be worth around 150,000.

Eibinger Gets a Check-Raise Paid

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger checked from the blinds on a completed board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Timothy Adams bet 7,000 in the cutoff and Eibinger made it 28,000. Adams called but couldn't beat {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Meanwhile, three more players — Tuan Tran, Lucas Reeves and Ahadpur Khangah — have showed up, so the players are now arrayed at two tables.
