Zagalo Eliminated by Petersen

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Pedro Zagalo
Pedro Zagalo

On a flop of {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Alexander Petersen and Pedro Zagalo clashed and the latter was all in and at risk.

Pedro Zagalo: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Alexander Petersen: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Petersen expected to see a set or pocket aces as per table chat and was somewhat surprised, he locked up the hand with the {6-Spades} on the turn. The meaningless {2-Hearts} appeared on the river and Petersen dragged in the pot while enjoying a massage.

"I guess he was unhappy with me because I opened to many pots," Petersen added in table chat.

Chidwick Last to Enter; Lindop Doubles

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Saman Nakhjavani and Denis Strebkov were all eliminated, while Stephen Chidwick was the last player to register for the event and take a seat.

Alex Lindop faced the pot-sized bet of Jacob Rasmussen in the small blind on the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop and eventually called all in for 13,100 in the cutoff.

Alex Lindop: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Jacob Rasmussen: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The {7-Clubs} turn gave Lindop an inferior set, and the {8-Diamonds} on the river improved him to a straight.

Bujtas Doubles Twice

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

On a {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, Laszlo Bujtas ended up all in and at risk for 13,100 with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and he was called by Denis Strebkov with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The {10-Diamonds} turn and {5-Clubs} river kept Bujtas in the lead and he doubled.

Shortly after, Bujtas made a wheel with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades} against Ronald Keijzer and doubled for 49,000.

The Chips Are Flying Again

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Just before the end of the registration period, Sam Greenwood, Vladimir Troyanovskiy and Sylvain Loosli have been eliminated. For the former two it was the first bullet, for defending champion Loosli it was the second bullet and he won't be able to lift the trophy for the second year in a row.

Troyanovskiy three-bet out of the big blind with the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against Juha Helppi and jammed a {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. Helppi snap-called with {A-}{Q-}{9-}{8-} for the flopped full house and no king showed up on turn and river.

Taheri Doubles Through Petersen

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

As expected, Eelis Parssinen and Sampo Ryynanen re-entered and Afshin Taheri avoided that for now, as he just doubled his short stack against Alexander Petersen. The chips went in after a flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the following cards were turned over:

Afshin Taheri: {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Alexander Petersen: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The {8-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river kept Taheri in the lead with his set, while Petersen took a small hit to the stack.

Parssinen and Ryynanen Eliminated

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Within a few moments both Eelis Parssinen and Sampo Ryynanen have been eliminated.

Parssinen got his stack in after a flop of {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and was marginally ahead in showdown against Ronald Keijzer.

Eelis Parssinen: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Ronald Keijzer: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The {6-Diamonds} turn instantly improved Keijzer to the nut flush and the {8-Hearts} river was a formality. Both Finns are expected to re-enter shortly before the end of the registration period.

Teoh and Timoshenko No More

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

On the river of a board {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{A-Clubs}, Ming Juen Teoh called the shove of Cary Katz and was shown the {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} by Katz.

"Oh wow, so sick," Teoh said and flipped over his {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for the flopped nut flush and turned inferior full house.

"Not your day of flopping sets," Katz said and dragged in the pot.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko ended up all in on a flop of {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Thorel immediately spiked the {6-Hearts} turn to leave Timoshenko drawing dead, and that made the {A-Clubs} river a formality.
