Roberts Railed

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

We bumped into Lauren Roberts in the hallway, who was making her way to the desk to do a late reentry in the tournament. According to Roberts, her last chips vanished while playing {6-}{6-} from the big blind.

On a {9-}{7-}{4-} flop with two spades, Roberts had check-raised and called a shove from an early position raiser. The raiser had {A-}{K-} and hit a king on the river to end Roberts' first attempt.

Blom Doubles Up; Andrade Celebrates

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Viktor Blom sat down with 30,000 in chips and, being Blom of course, quickly doubled up his starting stack. It was cause for celebration, and his left-hand neighbor Cesario Andrade joined in on the fun. The pair both ordered what appeared to be a gin-tonic to quench the thirst.

"You are my hero!" Andrade cheered, while Blom sipped stoically from his drink. Andrade then furiously shook Blom's hand and raised glasses with him.

Black Runs Into Aces

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Andy Black all in against Eder Takashi
Andy Black all in against Eder Takashi

Andy Black has been clipped in the penultimate level of the day after running into {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Black had gotten it in with {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and needed a miracle escape, which didn't appear on a {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} rundown.

Eder Takashi was the one holding the bullets and jumped to 180,000.

Staples Soaring; Mrakes Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jamie Staples
Jamie Staples

Team PokerStars Online's Jaime Staples has been trending up non-stop over the day and currently sits at 130,000, leading the way of the red spades in the field.

For another player, Czech star Michal Mrakes, the biggest EPT Main Event of all time has come to an end at the start of level 9. Down to just 7,500 in chips, Mrakes open-shoved from early position and Nazarii Piznak reshoved on the button to get it heads-up.

Michal Mrakes: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Nazarii Piznak: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

There was a major sweat along the way but the eventual help remained hidden on {J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} to end Mrakes' bid.
