Karmatckii Gives Up on the River

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alex Komaromi raised it up from middle position and was called by Arsenii Karmatckii on the button and Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the action checked to Karmatckii who bet 22,000. Kisacikoglu folded but Komaromi called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Komaromi check-called another bet of 46,000 from Karmatckii. The {8-Diamonds} double-paired the board on the river and Komaromi checked once more. Karmatckii checked it back this time and Komaromi turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

Luigi Shehadeh: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Clubs} for Thorel to find an ace on the flop to double up.

Shortly after, Jack Salter was eliminated on that table.

Laszlo Bujtas
Laszlo Bujtas

Jean-Noel Thorel limped in from middle position and Laszlo Bujtas raised to 30,000 on the button. Jack Salter called from the big blind and Thorel came along as well.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} and the action checked to Bujtas who continued for 30,000. Salter check-raised to 90,000, Thorel folded, and Bujtas moved all in for 233,000. Salter quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Laszlo Bujtas: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Jack Salter: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Both players flopped a flush draw but Salter picked up a pair as well. The {2-Hearts} was a brick on the turn but the {q-Hearts} on the river gave Bujtas a larger pair and a full double up.

Two More Knockouts for Pardo

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Juan Pardo was heads-up with Shyngis Satubayev with around 80,000 in the middle. The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Pardo checked to Satubayev who bet 50,000. Pardo check-raised all in and Satubayev called off his stack of around 220,000.

Pardo turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines while Satubayev had {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for an over pair. The {8-Diamonds} and {7-Spades} runout was no help to Satubayev as Pardo claimed another victim.

In the very next hand, Danny Tang shoved all in for 97,000 on the button and Pardo called from the big blind. Tang flipped over {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} but Pardo had him dominated with {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Tang became the next player to hit the rail. With that pot, Pardo moved over one million chips to pull way ahead of the rest of the field.

Pardo On the Rise Again

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded to Danny Tang on the button who made it 16,000 to go. Juan Pardo just called from the small blind and Joao Vieira jammed all in for around 320,000. Tang quickly folded and Pardo instantly called.

Juan Pardo: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Joao Vieira: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Pardo was still in charge with his pocket kings. The {10-Spades} on the turn gave Vieira some straight outs but the {2-Diamonds} on the river bricked off. Pardo took down the largest pot of the tournament thus far and stormed into the chip lead once again.
