Three Barrels from Sow

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Kalidou Sow (left)
Kalidou Sow (left)

Kalidou Sow barreled every street in a hand against Jonathan Proudfoot just now. The {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop was already out and after Proudfoot checked to the PokerStars Ambassador, Sow bet 1,800 in position. Proudfoot called and the turn fell the {8-Spades}. Once again, Proudfood check-called Sow's bet, this time for 4,600.

The last card dealt was the {4-Spades} and when Sow bet 10,000, Proudfoot took his time before deciding to pass.

Lau and Scalzi Boost Their Stacks

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A trio has emerged at the top of the counts in Alan Lau, James Romero and Antonio Scalzi.

Lau won a pot in which he fired two barrels worth 4,000 on the {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and 13,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn. The {2-Hearts} river was checked and his opponent showed {6-Spades}{4-Spades}, which Lau had beat with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Scalzi won a pot off Jason Wheeler to boost his stack. The completed board showed {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Scalzi bet 8,000 into 11,000. Wheeler raised to 25,000 and Scalzi moved all in to force a reluctant fold from Wheeler.

Nemeth Doubles Through Zhou; Assorted Counts

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With the board already completed at {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the pot up to around 24,000, it was Andras Nemeth who moved all in for his final 15,900. Lu Zhou, who's using Peppa Pig as a card protector, called after about a minute. Nemeth showed her the bad news with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and doubled up.

Jose Maria Galindo, also at their table, is already up to 120,000 and one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Nemeth Finishes Off Zhou

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

After doubling through her just moments ago, Andras Nemeth was all in against Lu Zhou again and this time it was the latter one at risk. Zhou had three-bet to 8,000 preflop and called off a four-bet shove for 22,000 total.

Lu Zhou: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Andras Nemeth: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The board came down {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Zhou departed in the eight level of the day.

Cormio Eliminated by Travers

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Mauro Cormio raised the button and Dimitar Danchev called in the small blind. Ambrose Travers raised to 5,200 in the big blind and both opponents called to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Danchev checked and Travers bet 4,500, Cormio shoved for 11,500 and, once Danchev had folded, Travers made the call.

Mauro Cormio: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Ambrose Travers: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The {2-Spades} turn and the {j-Spades} river failed to improve Cormio and he headed to the rail.

Heidorn and Mosele Depart

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Heidorn jammed the button for the last 9,300 and Joao Vieira just called out of the small blind. Andreas Vlachos in the big blind gave it some thought and folded.

Heidorn rolled over {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Vieira had the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. The board came {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} and that spelled the end for Heidorn.

Massimo Mosele also departed shortly after. The Italian got his last nine big blinds in with {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Paul Newey had that dominated with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Nothing changed on the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades} board and the Italian headed to the rail as well.
