Lau and Scalzi Boost Their Stacks

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A trio has emerged at the top of the counts in Alan Lau, James Romero and Antonio Scalzi.

Lau won a pot in which he fired two barrels worth 4,000 on the {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and 13,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn. The {2-Hearts} river was checked and his opponent showed {6-Spades}{4-Spades}, which Lau had beat with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Scalzi won a pot off Jason Wheeler to boost his stack. The completed board showed {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Scalzi bet 8,000 into 11,000. Wheeler raised to 25,000 and Scalzi moved all in to force a reluctant fold from Wheeler.

Kalidou Sow barreled every street in a hand against Jonathan Proudfoot just now. The {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop was already out and after Proudfoot checked to the PokerStars Ambassador, Sow bet 1,800 in position. Proudfoot called and the turn fell the {8-Spades}. Once again, Proudfood check-called Sow's bet, this time for 4,600.

The last card dealt was the {4-Spades} and when Sow bet 10,000, Proudfoot took his time before deciding to pass.

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Evy Kvilhaug
Evy Kvilhaug

Table two was in need of new players as just five were seated after the elimination of Shyngis Satubayev. The latter got his stack in after the {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and Evy Kvilhaug looked him up.

Shyngis Satubayev: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Evy Kvilhaug: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} turn and the {10-Spades} river were blanks and that was it for Satubayev.

"Kings again?" Georges Hanna asked and Kvilhaug replied with a yes.

"You said you didn't have kings?!" Hanna almost immediately followed up and Kvilhaug smiled.

Jiaming on the River

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, Huan Jiaming bet 2,100, Malikeh Razavi three-bet to 7,500, Jiaming clicked it back to 13,000, and Razavi called. Both players checked the {2-Hearts} on the turn.

On the {3-Hearts} river. Razavi quickly check-called a bet of 8,000 from Jiaming. The Chinese player showed {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for the rivered two pair and with loud dismay, Razavi mucked her hand.

Bitan Boosted Through Bedell

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Three players were in on a {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop and following two checks, Tom-Aksel Bedell bet 3,200. There was one call and Franck Bitan raised all in for 20,200. Bedell tank-called and when the other opponent passed, they flipped their cards on their backs.

Franck Bitan: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Tom-Aksel Bedell: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Bitan had got it in good and just needed to fade ten outs in order to stay in the competition. The {q-Clubs} turn was a safe card and the river was a brick too, the {q-Hearts}.
