Sammartino Wins a Small One

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Gaelle Baumann opened to 1,800 in middle position and received a call from Dario Sammartino in the hijack. Action then folded around to Gianluca Speranza, who defended his big blind, and the trio saw the flop come {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Speranza checked to Baumann and she threw out a continuation-bet of 2,500. Sammartino called and Speranza folded.

Action went heads up to the turn {9-Spades} and Baumann checked. Sammartino took about 10 seconds before reaching for chips and threw out 3,300. Baumann thought for a couple of seconds and then sent her cards to the muck to result in Sammartino taking down the pot.

New Entries and Re-Entries

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Many players bought in during the dinner break or used the opportunity for their one re-entry to jump back in. The clock is now showing a total of 203 entries with 140 players still remaining.

Moshe Doubles to Stay Alive

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ramin Hajiyev raised it up in early position and Asi Moshe defended from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Moshe checked to Hajiyev who continued for 1,500. Moshe check-raised all in for 12,000 and Hajiyev thought for a minute before making the call.

Asi Moshe: {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Ramin Hajiyev: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Moshe hit a ten on the flop to take the lead but the {9-Spades} on the turn meant any picture card would give Hajiyev the best hand. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Moshe improved to a full house to double up.

Reard Puts Skhulukhiya To the Test

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Alexandre Reard opened to 1,400 in the cutoff and was three-bet to 5,100 by Giorgiy Skhulukhiya, who was on the button. Action made its way back to Reard and he thought for a little bit before sliding out a four-bet that was enough to put Skhulukhiya to a decision for the majority of his chips.

The dealer announced the bet and Skhulukhiya immediately sent his cards to the muck, resulting in Reard's four-bet earning him the pot before any postflop action was needed.

Marchington Doubles Up

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Nick Marchington had moved all in for 13,500 on a {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} river with a pot of 22,000 in front of him and his opponent Alexander Ivarsson.

Ivarsson used a time extension before calling, and Marchington duly turned over {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a flopped straight. Ivarsson was forced to turn over {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for ace high and Marchington double in the last hand before dinner.

Jun Obara

Laszlo Bujtas opened to 1,500 from under the gun and was called by a player in the cutoff. Jun Obara re-raised to 6,800 in the big blind and both players called. The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} and the action checked around to the {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

Obara checked again and Bujtas bet 6,000 which got the cutoff to fold but Obara still called. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Obara checked for the third time. Bujtas splashed in a bet of 15,000 and Obara quickly called. Bujtas tabled {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of eights but Obara held {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to scoop another pot.

Kassouf Lays One Down

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

William Kassouf raised it up from under the gun and Vlado Banicevic three-bet to 6,500 on the button. The blinds folded and Kassouf called. The flop came {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Kassouf check-called a bet of 6,500 from Banicevic.

The {10-Spades} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {10-Clubs} on the river. Kassouf checked again and Banicevic fired out a bet of 17,000. Kassouf laid his hand down but pleaded to see at least one card.

"Show me one card. You have to show one." Banicevic nearly turned one over as Kassouf continued. "Show me a king. You have pocket kings, right?" But Banicevic slid his cards to the muck face down.
