Heinke Dusts Huang; Is Over Five Million

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Philipp Heinke
Philipp Heinke

There was around 950,000 in the middle on a board reading {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Philipp Heinke had bet 325,000 from the small blind. Action was back on him facing an all-in shove for 995,000 by Wei Huang, who was in middle position.

Heinke spent over three minutes thinking through his decision, uncertain what Huang could have. Eventually, he decided to make the call.

Wei Huang: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Philipp Heinke: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"Ace-eight. Sicko," said Heinke. He then came to terms with his situation: "I still have outs: queen or heart, dealer," asked Heinke. The dealer complied, bringing {3-Hearts} on the river to fill up Heinke to a flush.

"Yes!" said Heinke again on the quiet side, getting up and fist-pumping a few times as he paced a few steps away from the table. Moments later, he was sitting back down, adding another, "Let's go!" before sitting down and stacking his chips.

"You've been getting lucky," said another player at the table. Heinke responded along the lines of uncertainty, saying he never once put ace-eight in Huang's range.

Heinke then filled in the details from before the turn, saying that Huang had opened and was called by Giulio Mascolo on the button. Heinke three-bet and only Huang called, with both players checking the flop to bring action to the turn where stacks ended up going into the middle.

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Simon Burns
Simon Burns

Simon Burns shoved from the small blind and Giulio Mascolo asked for a count from the big blind. The dealer confirmed Burns had 715,000 behind. Mascolo contemplated what to do for a while and then opted to make the call.

Simon Burns: {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Giulio Mascolo: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to keep Burns ahead and he picked up a gutshot to the straight.

The turn was the {k-Spades} to give Mascolo a pair of kings.

The river completed the board with the {j-Diamonds} which didn't help Burns as he was eliminated in 40th place for €6,075 while the rest of the field picked up a pay jump to €7,390.

Heinke Takes from Burns

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

There was a three-bet pot preflop in which Simon Burns opened from early position and called a small three-bet from Philipp Heinke, who was in the hijack. The flop came {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Burns checked to Heinke, who made a continuation-bet of 220,000. Burns called.

With around 975,000 in the pot, the turn was {7-Clubs}. Burns checked again and Heinke continued, putting out another bet for 440,000. Burns thought for close to two minutes and then settled on a call.

The river fell {7-Hearts}. Burns checked one last time and Heinke put out a bet of 525,000. Burns went deep into the tank, ultimately resulting in another player calling a clock on him after over six minutes of thought. He used up half of the allotted 30 seconds before slamming down a chip to call.

Heinke immediately tabled {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} in a confident fashion that his top pair was good. Burns slammed down his cards to muck them; meanwhile, Heinke stood up and gave a quick fist pump before sitting right back down.

"Let's go!" he said quietly under his breath as he stacked his chips.

Two More Doubles

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Two all-ins on adjacent tables happened in a simultaneous fashion with dealers announcing all ins and calls for preflop all-in situations within seconds of one another.

Hand #1:

Alexiz Rozenblat was on the button and had Alexandre Viard at risk for the last of his chips from the big blind.

Alexiz Rozenblat: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Alexandre Viard: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Viard was in trouble after seeing his hand was dominated by Rozenblat's. The flop {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} changed the landscape, giving Viard nine more outs at a flush to improve. The turn came {5-Clubs}, which didn't help, but the river {6-Hearts} did the trick to earn him the double, keeping him alive and leaving Rozenblat short as a result.

Hand #2:

Nazar Buhaiov got all in preflop from the cutoff against Marcin Lesniewski, who was in the big blind and the two found themselves in a classic coin flip situation.

Nazar Buhaiov: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Marcin Lesniewski: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Lesniewski needed to hit an ace or king to win the pot and knock out Buhaiov, but the board ran out safe, coming {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Buhaiov became the one to see the pot shipped his way.

The board came {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and Ivanov made trips kings.

One table over, Rafael Alkhouri was all in with the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Nazar Buhaiov had him dominated holding the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

On a {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} board, Alkhouri flopped best and scored the double.

Mattila Shows One Ace, Claims Another

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Giorgiy Skhulukhiya was in the cutoff and opened to 105,000. He was three-bet to 315,000 by Jussi Mattila in the big blind and called to see a flop of {8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Mattila fired out a continuation-bet out of 200,000, sending Skhulukhiya into the tank.

"Show?" asked Skhulukhiya after close to a minute. Mattila nodded and Skhulukhiya folded.

Mattila turned over {a-Clubs}, prompting a reaction from Skhulukhiya.

"Ace!" said Mattila, pointing to the card that was not exposed. Skhulukhiya did not want to believe him, but he kept insisting. "Do you want to bet?" he asked. Skhulukhiya did not engage.

"Then I don't show," Mattila said, raking in the chips from the pot he had just won.
