Hallaert Swinging the Hammer

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Kenny Hallaert has built himself one of the biggest stacks in the room and is using it to his advantage.

In a recent pot, after [Removed:564] limped under the gun and Wiktor Smolka raised big to 6,100 on his left, Hallaert was next to act and came right over top for 15,000. Action folded back to Avends, who folded his limp, and then Smolka folded as well to preserve his stack as well.

Aspas Chips Up Through Petrangelo

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Nick Petrangelo opened to 2,800 fro early position and only Abel Aspas called from the big blind.

Aspas check-called a bet of 2,000 on the {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop before action checked through on the {3-Clubs} turn.

Aspas led out for 4,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn and was snap-called. Aspas turned over the {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Petrangelo nodded his head as he mucked his cards.

Another Round of Chip Counts

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Kassouf's Opponent Starts With Nine-High, Finishes Like a Boss

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

William Kassouf opened to 2,800 in middle position and was called in the cutoff by Harpreet Gill.

On the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop, Kassouf continued for 5,500 and was met with a raise to 13,000 by Gill. Kassouf made the call.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds}, and this time Kassouf checked. Gill fired for 16,000 and was check-raised all-in by Kassouf to about 37,000, which barely covered Gill. Gill called and was in bad shape.

Harpreet Gill: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
William Kassouf: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Kassouf's top two pair had Gill's bottom two pair crushed. That is until the miracle river brought the {9-Spades} to give Gill a full house.

The dealer counted down the chips and the boisterous Englishman was left with just two brown T-100 chips, which went in shortly after and never came back, sending Kassouf to the rail.

Karmatckii Gets Huge Double in Cooler

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatckii
Arsenii Karmatckii

Belarmino De Souza opened to 2,200 from early position before Arsenii Karmatckii three-bet to 7,000 from middle position.

De Souza then raised to 17,500. After a few moments, Karmatckii put in more chips, five-betting to 43,000.

De Souza would use his 30-second allowance before moving all-in as the slightly superior stack and his opponent snap-called.

Arsenii Karmatckii: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Belarmino De Souza: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

De Souza was in terrible shape while Karmatckii was in pole position to scoop one of the biggest pots of the day. He would do just that, as his kings held on the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts} runout.

Brewer Building a Big Stack

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

It has been a good day on the felt for Chris Brewer who has been steadily adding to his starting stack throughout Day 1. He just raked in another sizeable pot against Georgi Sandev.

With the board displaying the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Brewer moved all-in from the big blind. Sandev would go onto count his chips, and it appeared that he had 40,000 behind.

After using two time bank cards, he decided to fold after being tested by the American.
