Miracle River for Alvarez

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alberto Alvavrez moved all-in for 77,000 from under the gun before Yann Nasser re-shoved from middle position. Action folded round and the former was at risk.

Alberto Alvarez: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Yann Nasser: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Nasser remained in front after the {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop and {10-Diamonds} turn but the {j-Spades} river was just what Alvarez needed to stay alive in Day 1b.

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Masato Yokosawa had a strong start to the day but has simmered off in the late stages of Day 1b. He was in a pot versus Victor Pahon where there was 17,000 in the middle on the {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop. Yokosawa check-called a bet of 7,000 before action checked through on the {q-Clubs} turn.

Both players decided to check on the {3-Spades} river and Yokosawa turned over his {q-Spades}{7-Spades} for second pair. Pahon turned over the {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for two pair and scooped the pot.

Peter Gets Caught Speeding

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jaroslav Peter opned to 6,000 from middle position and was called by David Katav in the big blind. Katav check-called a bet of 10,000 following the {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop before action checked through on the {7-Spades} turn.
