Daniel Lakerveld Leads Pack of 56 Survivors from Day 1b in Eureka €1,100 Main Event

Day 1b of the Eureka €1,100 Main Event has come to close, with 56 players advancing to Tuesday’s, March 8, Day 2. The second starting flight saw a total of 374 entries, boosting the current total to 1,068.

There’s is already a whopping €1,219,200 in the prizepool with Days 1c and 1d still to play.

The Netherlands' Daniel Lakerveld bagged best and takes a stack of 530,000 into the next stage. WSOP Bracelet winner Dominik Panka and Tamer Ibrahim round out the top three chip stacks.

Other notables who made it through include Masato Yokosawa, Marius Gicovanu and Fausto Tantillo.

Each player that advances to Day 2 will lock up a min-cash and that figure will be determined upon the completion of the remaining Day 1 flights.

It wasn’t sunshine and rainbows for all participants. The likes of Jack Sinclair, Tom Vogelsang, Patrick Leonard and Vivian Saliba will have to try again to make it over the first hurdle.

The 159 players who have already qualified will combine with the survivors of flights C and D on Tuesday, March 8 for Day 2. The total prize pool will be announced then.

With 70,000 in the middle on a board reading {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, Elena Vega checked in the big blind before Hai Hoang moved all-in as the covering stack.

Vega agonised over her decision and a crowd formed around their table. After some wrtithing, Vega found the call and was at risk of being the bubble.

Although Vega was behind, she wasn't drawing dead. Howver the {j-Hearts} confirmed her status as the bubble and the remaining 56 players have begun to bag and tag their stacks for Day 2.

Daniel Lakerveld opened from middle positon to 12,000 before calling the all-in from Marius Constantin from late position.

Lakerveld was dominated, but not for long after the {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. He then made two pair on the {a-Spades} turn and sealed the bust out on the {6-Diamonds} river.

Rivers Continue to be Dangerous

Tjenno Eskes opened to 12,000 on the button and William Hickey, called off for his tournament life in the big blind. Hickey had the best of it with his {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} but it was no good against his opponent's {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, following the {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} runout.

Juncker Eliminated

Henrik Juncker moved in his short stack and was called by by Ettore Esposito.

Both Dimitrios Amoiridis and Liviu Scutaru got their chips in the middle, with the latter at risk of elimination.
