While that event wrapped up earlier on, the £5,300 EPT London Main Event is still in full swing, with Day 1b currently playing out.

There have been some crazy hands and notable eliminations, so check out the recap of the action so far from Day 1b!

One-Outer for Talbot to Stay Alive

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Parker Talbot was loudly celebrating a double-up, and explained to PokerNews that he'd hit a one-outer.

After Lawrence Bayley raised to 2,400 from the small blind, Talbot had three-bet all in for 17,500 from the big blind. Bayley called with {k-}{q-} against the {2-}{2-} of Talbot.

A queen on the flop gave Bayley a pair, but a {2-} on the river saw Talbot stay alive. According to tablemate Ambreen Mirza, she had folded the last two meaning that Talbot had hit a one-outer to stay alive.

"Make sure you put it in that the play was terrible," said Bayley light-heartedly.

Another player at the table was Dominik Nitsche.

"Make sure you also include that I agree with Parker [Talbot] that the play was terrible," added Nitsche, and the table laughed.

Chuttani Soars into Chip Lead

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A hand was in progress between Ramin Hajiyev and Sahil Chuttani that had amassed close to 80,000 chips in the pot. The full board of {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds} was out and Hajiyev had checked to Chuttani.

Chuttani moved all in for over 50,000, covering Hajiyev who took his time, pausing his music and cracking his knuckles as he contemplated the decision.

He eventually called and Chuttani flipped over {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a flopped set. Hajiyev's hand {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} was turned over and he was eliminated.

After the hand, tablemate Aaron Duczak informed us that Hajiyev had check-called on all three streets.

Thivyanathan Binks River

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Tamer Kamel was in a heads-up pot against Aaron Thivyanathan on a board of {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} with around 17,000 already in the middle.

Thivyanathan put out a pot-sized river bet and Kamel thought for a few seconds and called. Thivyanathan tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a rivered set, which brought a wince from Kamel as he showed the table he had {a-}{q-} for a no good top two pair.

Pavlov Takes from Torre

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Giovani Torre and Atanas Pavlov were in a heads-up pot on board of {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} in a battle between the blinds.

Torre led out with a bet of 2,000 from the small blind and Pavlov raised to 5,000. Torre called. Torre checked on the {3-Hearts} turn and Pavlov sized down to 4,000, which wasn't small enough to get any more out of his opponent as Torre folded.

Double Elimination for Fisher

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Robin Fisher opened to 2,200 and got two calls before Smit Trevedi three-bet all in for 27,000. Fisher four-bet all in for 49,700.

One player folded before Danut Chisu also called for his last 17,000.

Danut Chisu: {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Smit Trevedi: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Robin Fisher: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

"That's good for me," said Trevedi as the flop came {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} giving him a straight draw. "Any queen."

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} meaning he was open-ended.

"That's good for me!" repeated Trevedi," Any ace!"

The river was the {3-Hearts}

"That's good for me!" said Chisu sarcastically as Fisher's aces held and he sent both opponents to the rail.
