Ace-High Vs. Ace-High

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was heads up with 7,400 in the pot and {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} on the board when Boris Progner checked from the small blind. Walter Ripper bet 4,600 and Progner called to see the turn.

The turn was {8-Hearts} and Progner check-called another bet from Ripper, this time for 10,000. The river was {10-Spades}.

Both players checked the river and Progner turned over {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, but Ripper showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to take the pot with a better version of ace-high.

Maglianella Folds Out Delval

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Frederic Delval
Frederic Delval

Frederic Delval opened to 2,500 from the hijack and was called by Simone Maglianella and Sonny Franco from the blinds.

Action checked to Delval on the {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop who continued for 2,000. Only Maglianella called.

The {7-Hearts} turn checked through to the {2-Spades} river which prompted Maglianella to lead for 14,500. Delval quickly folded and the pot was pushed towards the Italian.

Aces for Krol

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Iliodoros Kamatakis
Iliodoros Kamatakis

Jesper Hansen opened to 2,500 from the cutoff before Pawel Krol moved all in for 20,500 from the button. Iliodoros Kamatakis then jammed from the big blind as the big stack and folded out Hansen.

Pawel Krol: {a-}{a-Clubs}
Iliodoros Kamatakis: {a-}{j-}

Krol's aces remained best and he doubled up following the {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades} runout.

Huber Dodges Trouble

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Tom Orpaz raised to 2,700 from the button and Stefan Huber raised to 7,900 from the next seat over in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Orpaz called for heads-up action.

The flop was {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Huber continued for 5,000. Orpaz called and the turn was {k-Spades}.

Huber checked the turn and Orpaz bet 10,000. After a few moments of thought, Huber check-jammed for just over 50,000.

"Gamble," Orpaz said as he put out a stack of chips to call.

Huber turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and he was ahead of the {q-Spades}{10-Spades} of Orpaz. The river was {4-Clubs} and the straight draw missed to give Huber the pot with three kings.

Demus Cracks Kings and Queens

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Patrik Demus
Patrik Demus

Raphael Degelo open-jammed for 18,400 from under the gun before Patrik Demus made it around 100,000 on his direct left. Action folded Shai Attias, who had 26,000, snap-called for his tournament from the big blind.

Raphael Degelo: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Shai Attias: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Patrik Demus: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

All three players had premium hands but Degelo was the favorite until Attias moved ahead following the {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop. Degelo was drawing to the last king in the deck while Demus had outs to the flush.

Nothing changed on the {9-Spades} turn but the {2-Clubs} gave Demus the winner and he downed two opponents to hit the 200,000 chip mark.
