Juha Helppi
Juha Helppi

Juha Helppi was all in for around 33,000 from the big blind against Andriy Mertengren on the button, who had him covered.

Juha Helppi: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Andriy Mertengren: {j-}{j-}

Mertengren had run his jacks right into the aces of Helppi and nothing changed on the runout of {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} to earn the Finnish poker legend the double.

Two-Outer In the Window Sends Kassouf Packing

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

William Kassouf endured a tough beat at Table 6 and those present were glad it marked his exit so they could be spared a tirade.

As relayed to PokerNews, Gabriel Rymar opened from the hijack and Kassouf three-bet jammed behind him. Rymar called with {9-}{9-} to find himself behind the {q-}{q-} of Kassouf. But that mattered little as a nine in the window gave Rymar a massive lead with a set and nothing changed after the full runout to mark Kassouf's elimination.

"You did us all a favor!" laughed a player at the table who had clearly had enough of Kassouf's world-famous table talk, while Rymar said he hadn't been aware of his opponent's reputation.

"He doesn't care if you listen or not," another player commented. "We could have eight players with headphones on and he'd still be talking."

Alireza Flushes Out Two Opponents

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Amir Mozaffarian
Amir Mozaffarian

There was a three-way all-in on Table 54, with Amir Mozaffarian and Istvan Hefler at risk of elimination to Bandar Alireza, who had both players covered.

Amir Mozaffarian: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Istvan Hefler: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Bandar Alireza: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop kept the pocket pair ahead but the {a-Spades} turn gave Alireza the flush to seal the checkmark. The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Alireza downed two opponents.

Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

Tom Orpaz has had a day full of ups and downs that saw him getting up to over four times starting stack at one point before being eliminated in Level 7.

As relayed by the table, Orpaz moved all in with {j-}{10-} and was called by the {a-}{3-} of Raimondo Marcello, who won the hand with ace-high after an inconsequential runout.

The real estate entrepreneur bought back into the tournament shortly after and took his seat at another table.

Sunzeri Fades Clubs to Eliminate Kara

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In a three-way pot on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Heinrich Hlawenka kicked off the action by betting 1,500. Halim Kara then raised to 5,500 from the next seat and Daniele Sunzeri three-bet to 18,500. Hlawenka folded and Kara four-bet jammed, leading Sunzeri to snap-call with a bigger stack.

Halim Kara: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Daniele Sunzeri: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Sunzeri was ahead with a set but needed to dodge clubs as his opponent had the nut flush draw. He was able to do so as the board ran out an innocent {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} to earn him the pot and send Kara to the rail.

Orpaz Flops a Boat

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

PokerNews caught the tail end of a big hand at Table 75 and the full action was relayed by Tom Orpaz.

Orpaz raised to 700 on top of an under the gun limp and the cutoff called, while Victor Medel three-bet to 2,600 on the button. Orpaz and the cutoff called.

The flop landed {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Orpaz and the cutoff both checked. The button bet 2,600 and only Orpaz called. Orpaz checked again on the {3-Clubs} turn and Medel sized up to around 6,600. Orpaz again called.

Orpaz checked a third time on the {9-Diamonds} river and Medel checked back, leading Orpaz to turn over {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a flopped full house to win the pot.
