Starostin Drills Turn for Massive Pot

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Waldemar Starostin
Waldemar Starostin

Action picked up on the turn in a three-way pot with about 370,000 in the middle. The board was {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Waldermar Starostin checked the big blind. In middle position, Yannick Gautschi bet 150,000. On his left, Georgi Sandev flatted the bet. Back on Starostin, he check-raised up to 500,000.

Gautschi went into the tank for a couple of minutes. The bet represented about 80 percent of his stack. Eventually, he moved all in for about 650,000. Sandev folded, but Starostin flipped in a chip for the call.

Yannick Gautschi: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Waldemar Starostin: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Starostin drilled trips on the turn and Gaitschi couldn't get away for his top pair. The river was the {8-Hearts} to secure the pot for Gatuschi and catapult him over two million chips.

Degen Decides to Gamble

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Aleksandar Tomovic check-jammed for 190,000 from the small blind after Jonas Degen continued for 50,000 from under the gun.

Degen wasn't thrilled with the spot but made the call.

Huet Comes From Way Behind

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sidney Opoong
Sidney Opoong

Uproarious calls were heard from a nearby table after a runout had just been completed. Sorting through the aftermath, it was Sidney Opoong and Benoit Huet who had just played a pot.

The two had gotten all the chips in the middle on the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop. Huet bet the flop, Opoong raised small, Huet jammed and Opoong called.

Benoit Huet: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Sidney Opoong: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Huet was at risk and nearly hopeless as he had run into Opoong's flopped set. The turn came the {j-Hearts}, keeping hope alive. The river was the unlikely {j-Spades}. Huet went runner-runner jacks to overtake Opoong's set and make a better full house of his own.
