Velasevic Runs Out of Chips

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Guy Goossens just called a raise and then called the preflop all-in by Danilo Velasevic while the third player in the hand had gotten out of the way.

Danilo Velasevic: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Guy Goossens: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop had Velasevic on the ropes but he found some equity with the {9-Diamonds} turn. However, the {3-Clubs} river only improved Goossens to a full house and ended Velasevic's first bullet on Day 1a.

Zarbo Knocked Out by Sundaralingam

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Thivakaran Sundaralingam
Thivakaran Sundaralingam

The {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} turn was checked by Thivakaran Sundaralingam and he then called a bet worth 1,700 by [Removed:511]. This led them to the {7-Spades} on the river and Sundaralingam checked once more.

Zarbo pushed all-in for 8,700 and that sent Sundaralingam into the tank. After three minutes he asked for an exact count to then call shortly after. Zarbo revealed {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for counterfeited two pair and Sundaralingam won the pot with the {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Ylitalo Busts Soering

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Robin Ylitalo
Robin Ylitalo

With 7,200 each invested to the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop, Robin Ylitalo bet for what appeared to be 4,500 in the hijack. Hendriekus Soering then pushed all-in for 16,800 and Ylitalo reluctantly called.

Hendriekus Soering: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Robin Ylitalo: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {8-Hearts} turn made a split pot likely but the {k-Diamonds} river restored the preflop and flop order, as Ylitalo made kings and tens to score the knockout.

Nacer Plays for Stacks

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action picked up on the flop with a board of {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Three players were battling hard over a pot of 14,000.

Petr Targa bet 8,000 from under the gun. In middle position, Samir Hadj-Nacer moved all in for 26,000. In the big blind, Junhyoung Kim also moved all in, his bet for slightly less at 23,000.

Targa sat there, apparently thinking for about three minutes. Ki called the clock. The floor came over, announced the clock, and counted down to zero, then declared the hand dead. Ki announced his hand of {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. At that point, Targa attempted to make the call.

Targa does not speak English and apparently thought the action was on Ki the whole time. After the tournament director was called over and the situation explained, he was forced to fold his hand because of the action. The other two went to a runout.

Junhyoung Kim: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Samir Hadj-Nacer: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Trips versus a flush draw, the turn came the {4-Diamonds}. A club showed on the river, but it was the {4-Clubs} to double pair the board and give Nacer the full house.

For what it's worth, Targa explained via translator that he folded the nut-flush draw, so he ended up saving chips in the hand.

Calamusa and Teusl Among Recent Casualties

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Pierre Calamusa and Jessica Teusl were eliminated in quick succession and the latter provided the details. According to Teusl, an overpair for Calamusa was no good as Rachid Amamou had flopped trips fives with eight-five.

Teusl herself lost most of the chips with a set of queens against a flush and departed shortly after.

On the same table, Amamou then bet a {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} river for 3,500. Namhyung Kim raised to 13,100 and Amamou shrugged, then folded the {7-Spades} face-up. "I believe you," he added as Kim exposed the {a-Diamonds}.

Bayram Doubles Through Reusch

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The completed board showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Frederik Reusch bet 4,000. Haci Bayram pushed all-in for 14,500 and that sent his opponent into the tank.

After plenty of table chat, Reusch called and Bayram tabled {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a straight to double as Reusch only had {j-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair.

Sitbon Soars to a Big Stack

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Valerii Kalynych check-called a bet worth 15,000 on a completed board of {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} river while in the big blind. Julien Sitbon tabled the {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} from an early position and Kalynych mucked his {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} with a lot of frustration.

One hand later, Sitbon opened to 800 and called a three-bet to 2,300 by Luciano Cutri. On the {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, Sitbon check-called for 5,000 and the {8-Clubs} turn was checked. Following the {2-Diamonds} river, Sitbon bet 7,000 and Cutri paid that off. Sitbon exposed {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for nines and eights to win the pot.
