Andersson Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Miroslav Alilovic raised to 2,000 and was called by three players including Fredrik Andersson on the button. The {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop was checked to Andersson, who bet 3,500. Only Alilovic called and subsequently checked the {10-Spades} turn.

Andersson now bet 8,500 and that won the pot without any further resistance.

Abussamra Gets River Value Out of Flopped Set

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Simon Higgins opened to 2,500 from early position and picked up two callers, Ivan Banic on the button and Elias Abussamra in the big blind. As Abussamra was calling, Higgins joked with advice.

"Oh, just let it go. [Banic] wants to win a pot against me," he said. Still, they would head there three ways.

The flop showed up monotone in the {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}. Abussamra checked, Higgins decided not to continuation-bet, and and Banic also checked the button.

The turn came the {k-Clubs}, once more all three players checked.

On the {7-Diamonds} river, Abussamra elected to lead for 9,000. Higgins thought for some time, then he put in the call. Banic folded.

Abussamra showed {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a flopped set.

" I saved myself," said Higgins, as he showed a {k-Clubs}. "I didn't think I had the best hand," he added.

Higgins Gets Some Chips Back

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Elias Abussamra raised the button and was called by Simon Higgins in the big blind. They headed to a {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop on which Higgins called a bet worth 2,200. The same action repeated on the {j-Clubs} turn for 6,000 and the {3-Hearts} river was checked through.

Higgins tabled the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs} for trips kings and that won the pot. "You got it back," Abussamra joked and Higgins replied "yeah ... would you have called any river bet?" Abussamra instantly came back with a "no" as Higgins concluded the conversation with the "thought so".

Both are among the big stacks in the field in the penultimate level of the night.

Rajkovic Aggressive From the Big Blind

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mario Navarro Arrocha opened from middle position, and Eldiyar Janiev called in the cutoff. From the small blind, Adi Rajkovic three-bet. Both other players made the call.

The flop showed up {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Rajkovic led for 11,500. Arrocha called, but Janiev let it go.

Heads-up to the turn, it came the {9-Diamonds}. After thinking for a bit, Rajkovic led for 35,000, almost half of what Arrocha had behind. Arrocha considered continuing but decided to lay his down after a minute of contemplation.

Brendo Catches Big Blind Bluff

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action picked up on the river with a board showing {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}. About 50,000 sat in the pot.

From the big blind, Shi Yi Ning led for 35,000. He met a snap call from Oddvar Brendo in the hijack.

Ning showed {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, but that was no good against the {4-Spades}{3-Spades}, the rivered flush of Brendo that took the pot.
