Ramon Colillas Among Chip Leaders as Day 2 of €5,300 Main Event Set to Begin

Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

Both starting flights are over and the field is set for Day 2 of the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event. The atmosphere here in the Hilton Prague is buzzing as impressive fields have turned out for each event on this schedule.

For this prestigious Main Event, 1,238 confirmed entries have generated a stunning prize pool of over €6 million. With registration open until Day 2 starts at 12 p.m., that number will no doubt grow even higher. Payouts have yet to be announced, but PokerNews will relay that information as soon as it's available.

Spanish professional and PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas starts the day in the four spot on the leaderboard with 312,000. With over $6 million in live earnings according to Hendon Mob, Colillas sits in fifth place on Spain's all-time money list. A strong showing here at the Czech capital would get him that much closer to fourth place on that list. With at least 405 players in the field, though, plenty of talented players stand in his way.

Day 2 Schedule

Starting today, levels will be 90 minutes long with 20-minute breaks scheduled at the end of each level. Late registrants who can get into the action until the start of play would sit down with 20 big blinds as blinds will kick off at 1,000/1,500/1,500.

The total number of levels played today has yet to be determined. The last time this event came through, the money bubble burst on Day 2. With approximately 15 percent of the field in line to make a payday, it's a race to that number today.

The feature table live stream will be in action as well on a 30-minute delay, so starting up at 12:30 p.m. local time. The stream will be available on PokerStars YouTube and Twitch channels, and the link will be provided here as soon as it becomes available.

PokerNews will be here with up-to-the-minute coverage all day long, so stay tuned in here to watch this one play out as players work their way to the money.

Watson Triples Up With Trips

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

From middle position, Mike Watson moved all in for 11,500. Action folded to Peter Jaksland in the small blind who made the call. In the big blind, Miroslav Forman was interested. He three-bet to 25,500. Jaksland let his cards go fairly quickly and the other two were headed to a runout with Watson at risk.

Mike Watson: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Miroslav Forman: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Watson was dominated and looking for help. He found a lot of it on the {k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop. Flopping trips kept him well in the lead on the {3-Spades} turn and {10-Diamonds} river to triple up and get back healthy.

Grieco Goes Runner Runner to Bust Billard

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Nicola Grieco
Nicola Grieco

Aurelien Russo was spotted on his way out as Konstantin Farber raked in the pot. The {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of the German had made the top two pair on an ace-high board.

One table over, Francois Billard jammed for 33,500 into a raise by Nicola Grieco and the Italian called with some hesitation.

Francois Billard: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Nicola Grieco: {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Grieco binked the straight on the river.

"Guess I should have told him I folded a seven," Fabian Niederreiter joked, referring to an earlier hand.

D'Angelo Cracks Aces, Gets It All

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Daniele D'Angelo
Daniele D'Angelo

Action started on the river in a large, heads-up pot with about 160,000 in the middle. The full board read {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Christian Dalder checked from early position. His sole opponent was Daniele D'Angelo in the cutoff. D'Angelo thought for a couple of minutes before moving all in for 55,000. He had Dalder slightly covered.

Into the tank went Dalder, knowing the call would be his tournament life if he was wrong. After about two minutes, he did put in the chips.

D'Angelo showed {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the turned flush to take down the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} of Dalder and send him home.

Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel opened in middle position to 3,500. Bruno Fitoussi put in the three-bet to 8,500 from late position. Action folded back to Kabrhel who unsurprisingly started talking.

"He knows I love him, so I can't bust him. That's why he raised," said Kabrhel. "I fold. Show me your cards, please."

Fitoussi showed the {a-Spades}.

"In my country, cards mean two cards," said Kabrhel.

"Ok, for you. Only for you, don't go telling everybody," said Fitoussi, as he showed {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} face up.

"You bluffed me," said Kabrhel. "I folded ace-jack because I love this banana man. Yes, write it down, write that he's crazy. I'm out. Seat open. Cash me out."

A new dealer sat down at the table.

"What country are you from?" asked Kabrhel.

"Take a guess," replied the dealer.

"I've never heard of that country. What is the capital?" asked Kabrhel.

Benjamin Spragg
Benjamin Spragg

In a heads-up pot with a board reading {10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Benjamin Spragg bet 16,500 and faced an all-in from Emin Mugulov.

Mugulov had Spragg covered and the PokerStars Ambassador went into the tank before making the call and putting his tournament at risk.

Benjamin Spragg: {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Emin Mugulov: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Both players had two pair but it was Mugulov who was in front. Spragg needed to find a queen or five to secure the double up but headed to the exit as the {9-Clubs} hit the river.

Sam Grafton

Jordan Saccucci opened the action from early position to 3,500 and the action folded around to PokerStars Ambassador Sam Grafton in the big blind who made the call.

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, Grafton bet his remaining 16,000 chips and Saccucci swiftly called putting Grafton at risk.

Sam Grafton: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Jordan Saccucci: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Grafton found himself busting the final hand of the level.

Up and Down for Adams

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Picking up the action on the flop with the board reading {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, three players were in the hand and the action checked around to the {6-Clubs} on the turn. Ermanno Di Nicola finally threw in a bet of 9,000 which got a call from Timothy Adams and a fold from Julien Sitbon.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} which slowed the action and both players checked. Di Nicola turned over {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a rivered pair but Adams held {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a better pair to win the pot.

On the next hand, Jakub Koleckar opened to 5,000 from under the gun and Adams three-bet to 15,500. The action folded back to Koleckar who randomly splashed in a four-bet to 51,000. Adams gave it some thought but eventually decided to fold.

Cowen Coolers Hu Out the Door

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Robert Cowen
Robert Cowen

Simeon Spasov opened for 4,000 from early position and picked up two callers, David Hu in the cutoff and big-stacked Robert Cowen in the big blind.

The flop showed up {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Cowen checked, as did the preflop raiser Simeon Spasov. In position, David Hu bet 5,500. Both Cowen and Spasov made the call to head three ways to a turn.

The next card came the {3-Spades}. Cowen chose to lead for 7,500. Spasov folded, but Hu made the call.

The river fell the {6-Hearts}. Cowen led by moving all in, 51,000 effective in Hu's stack. Hu gave it some thought, but in the end couldn't fold his hand.

Cowen showed {q-Spades}{j-Hearts} for the flopped full house, better than the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} trips Hu held, so Hu was eliminated.
