O’Dwyer climbed the leaderboard early on but caught fire later in the evening when he picked up aces against the pocket tens of Orpen Kisacikoglu to send him to the rail. O’Dwyer is no stranger to these high roller fields with close to 32 million dollars in lifetime earnings and a recent sixth place here in the €25,000 No Limit Hold'em for €117,260. He will be looking to better that result when he puts his 679,000 stack to work in tomorrow’s finale.

Finland’s Eelis Parssinen came in late to the day but soared up the leaderboard to bag an impressive 597,000 for second place. Parssinen is not a regular to the high rollers but found a recent score here with a fourth-place finish in the €10,200 Pot Limit Omaha for €112,780.

Juan Pardo comes back tomorrow in third place with 566,000 after hitting quad threes early on to eliminate two players and sky rocket his stack. Adrian Mateos and Sergio Aido round out the top five as they hope to take down this EPT title.

Many notables joined the action throughout the day but those who could not find a bag included Erik Seidel, Seth Davies, Juha Helppi, and Patrik Antonius, who will all have another chance to jump back in the action tomorrow.

The cards will go back in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante and action will play down till a winner is crowned.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back on-site tomorrow as EPT Barcelona concludes here in Catalonia.

Steve O'Dwyer

Motoyoshi Okamura opened from early position to 6,000 and Orpen Kisacikoglu three-bet to 18,000 from the button, Steve O'Dwyer four-bet from the big blind and Kisacikoglu shoved for around 120,000. O'Dwyer snap-called.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

O'Dwyer had Kisacikoglu crushed with aces against tens, also taking away any flush potential as he held the same suits.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} to give Kisacikoglu some backdoor straight potential but the {a-Diamonds} turn had him drawing dead.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and O'Dwyer took his chip stack to just under 500,000.

Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Nick Petrangelo opened from the button to 5,000 and Sam Greenwood three-bet from the big blind to 15,000. Petrangelo called.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Greenwood dropped in a continuation bet of 20,000. Petrangelo made the call.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and Greenwood fired a second barrel, this time for 55,000. Petrangelo took his full 30 seconds and called once more.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and both players would take their full 30 seconds before tapping the table. Greenwood showed {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a missed flush draw and Petrangelo flipped over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for two pair, in addition to a missed flush draw.

Petrangelo remarked "I could have really won it" after seeing Greenwood was nearly the victim of a flush-over-flush situation.

Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

In a pot of roughly 20,000 on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Juan Pardo checked from the big blind and Seth Davies bet out 6,000 from the cutoff.

Vladimir Korzinin was next to act on the button and made the call. Pardo elected on a check-raise to 20,000 and Davies announced all in for close to 140,000. Korzinin quickly moved all in as well for less and Pardo snap-called, covering both stacks.

Vladimir Korzinin: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Seth Davies: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Juan Pardo: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

It was a cooler flop for Davies and Korzinin hitting the board but being up against the bottom set of Pardo. The board ran out {8-Clubs} and {3-Clubs}, giving Pardo quads and eliminating two players.

Juha Helppi opened to 4,500 from the button and Sirzat Hissou called from the small blind. Adrian Mateos went over the top of both players and Helppi called off for roughly 35,000 while Hissou, with 38,500 chips behind, tossed his cards away.

Juha Helppi: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The Finland star received a lot of help on the {7-Spades} turn but the {k-Hearts} eliminated him from the tournament, at least for now.
