Benitez Doubles Up Through Petrone

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Ramiro Petrone opened for 6,000 from the cutoff and Francisco Benitez called from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} and both players tapped the table.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Benitez put in a bet and, after using a time bank chip, Petrone shoved over the top of the Uruguayan. Benitez called rather quickly and cards went on their backs.

Francisco Benitez: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Ramiro Petrone: {k-Spades}{5-Spades}

Petrone was visibly annoyed when Benitez showed that he had also turned a king with a better kicker.

Petrone was unable to improve on the {2-Diamonds} river and Benitez stayed alive in the hunt for his third title of the series.

Smith Falls Victim to Addamo

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Dan Smith shoved the rest of his stack of around 30,000 and was quickly called by chip leader Michael Addamo, putting Smith at risk of elimination.

Dan Smith: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Michael Addamo: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Although Smith had Addamo essentially dominated, he could not escape Addamo's heater as the flop came {5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Addamo a big lead. The {8-Hearts} gave Smith some hope as he could then hit a ten for a straight along with his queen outs.

But the river {7-Hearts} did not do it for Smith and he was sent to the rail as Addamo increased his already impressive chip lead.

Phua Eliminates Kanit

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

Mustapha Kanit ripped it all in for his last 52,000 from middle position and Paul Phua called from the small blind.

Mustapha Kanit: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Paul Phua: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

While Phua was well ahead of Kanit, the {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} created a big sweat over the 116,000 chips in the middle and Kanit's tournament life.

The {10-Clubs} prevented a board straight while the {q-Diamonds} river gave Phua a set of queens and eliminated Kanit.

Petrone Forces Watson Out of Big Pot

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ramiro Petrone
Ramiro Petrone

On a flop of {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, after checks from small blind Mikita Badziakouski and big blind Ramiro Petrone, Mike Watson bet 9,000 and both players called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Badziakouski checked again, but this time Petrone put out a large bet of 25,000, to which Watson called and Badziakouski folded.

On the river {5-Diamonds}, Petrone led out for 100,000, which covered Watson and put him in an uncomfortable spot. After a few moments, he made what appeared to be a painful fold and Petrone was pushed the big pot.

Benitez Running Hot as Greenwood Runs Nines into Aces

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Eric Rabl opened from under the gun to 20,000 and Sam Greenwood shoved for 212,000 from the small blind. Francisco Benitez then shoved for 213,000 total from the big blind. Rabl got out of the way.

Sam Greenwood: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Francisco Benitez: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Greenwood, unfortunately, ran his nines right into Benitez's aces and wouldn't improve on the {4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} board.

Antonius Wins Enormous Pot with Pocket Queens, Sends Petrone Home

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Patrik Antonius
Patrik Antonius

Patrik Antonius opened to 22,000 from middle position and was called by Danny Tang in the hijack. Ramiro Petrone, from the small blind, moved all in for 280,000 total. Antonius would then go over the top for 348,000 and Tang, despite being egged on to call and triple up by Antonius, would make what he called a very good laydown.

Ramiro Petrone: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Patrik Antonius: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Antonius was well ahead and stayed ahead on the {4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

The {j-Spades} would give Petrone some added hope but the {k-Diamonds} river was enough to send the Argentinian to the rail.

Benitez Scores Double Knockout to Scoop Big Pot

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Francisco Benitez, Orpen Kisacikoglu, and Daniel Dvoress all found themselves all in preflop, with Benitez covering.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Francisco Benitez: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Kisacikoglu was a favorite going into the hand, and he was good on the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} turn with a full house, but the {k-Spades} river was a dagger as Benitez made a bigger full house with his king. Kisacikoglu and Dvoress were both eliminated as Benitez raked in the big pot.

Bujtas Approaches One Million After Eliminating Petrangelo

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress - Laszlo Bujtas
Daniel Dvoress - Laszlo Bujtas

Laszlo Bujtas opened for 25,000 from early position and Nick Petrangelo shoved for around 140,000 from the hijack. It folded around back to the Hungarian, who made the call.

Nick Petrangelo: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Laszlo Bujtas: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Petrangelo found himself completely dominated and the {3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} runout ensured that Bujtas' king remained enough to score the elimination.

Hecklen Eliminated after Two Bouts with Volkmann

Level 16 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Henrik Hecklen
Henrik Hecklen

Bruno Volkmann pushed all in preflop for 86,000 and was called by Henrik Hecklen, putting Volkmann at risk.

Bruno Volkmann: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Henrik Hecklen: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades} to give Volkmann a pair of fives to double up, leaving Hecklen with only 20,000.

The very next hand, Hecklen moved all in for that last 20,000, then Damian Salas three-bet to 42,000, but then Volkmann came over the top and pushed all in again. Salas decided to let it go and the two tabled their cards, this time with Hecklen at risk.

Bruno Volkmann: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Henrik Hecklen: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to give Volkmann the win with his queen kicker and subsequently eliminated Hecklen.

Pablo Brito Silva: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
