An Early Six-Bet Jam from Obara

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Jun Obara and Tien Dung Pham got into a raising war early in the day at Table 2 that began with Obara opening from the cutoff. Pham then three-bet to 3,000 from the small blind and Obara responded with a four-bet to 7,800.

Pham wasn't having any of that and put in a five-bet to 18,000, which the dealer initially thought was a call and she began collecting the pot before the table informed her of the raise. Obara wasted no time six-bet jamming with a stack of about 45,000 and Pham called after a few seconds.

Jun Obara: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Tien Dung Pham: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

No, it wasn't aces over kings, but instead a fair fight between nines and ace-king. Obara took the lead when the flop came {3-Hearts}{q-Spades}{a-Spades} to pair his ace and he improved to Broadway on the {10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} runout to earn him the double, while Pham was left with a short stack during the first level of play.

Orpaz Scores Elimination in Huge Cooler

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

Tom Orpaz just excitedly alerted the PokerNews live reporting team to a hand that has seen him double his starting stack while sending Vladimir Korzinin to the rail early.

According to Orpaz, he limped in early position, a middle position player limped, Korzinin raised to 1,000 in the small blind and he then back-raised to 4,500.

Action folded back to Korzinin and he moved all in. Orpaz made the call for a huge pot preflop.

Tom Orpaz: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Vladimir Korzinin: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Orpaz was in trouble most of the way as the board ran out {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} before the river brought Orpaz the {k-Hearts} for the two-out victory to snatch the huge pot and make Korzinin one of the day's earliest eliminations

Decent Pot for Golubev

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Approximately 15,000 was in the pot on a turn board of {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs} with Andrey Golubev betting 5,700 into Andrija Robovic on the button.

Robovic called to see the {k-Spades} fall on the river and he was again faced with a bet from Golubev, this time for 11,000.

Robovic had a significant decision, as a call would be for almost half of his remaining chips.

After using two of his 30-second time bank cards, Robovic landed on a fold, as his stack shrunk to just above half of its starting size.

Mandic Catches Kade Speeding

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Goran Mandic opened to 500 from the cutoff and Vanessa Kade defended her big blind.

Kade checked on the flop of {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Mandic called. Kade then led out for 800 on the {j-Hearts} turn and her opponent called.

The river brought the {5-Hearts} and Kade shuffled a chip through her fingers before betting 4,000. Mandic snap-called. Kade had apparently been bluffing as she tossed her cards to the dealer without showing. Mandic then took in the pot without having to reveal his holding.
