Grossmann Doubles Through Brink

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Frederik Brink opened from middle position before Lukasz Grossmann three-bet jammed a stack of 38,500 from late position. Brink called with a bigger stack when the action folded around.

Lukasz Grossmann: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Frederik Brink: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

Both players made pairs on the flop of {9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} but Grossmann had the best of it and his hand held up for a double as the board finished out {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Grossmann raked in the pot as the player in the big blind, Amaury Mamou-Mani, informed him he would have flopped a monster.

"You just call, I have king-ten suited," said Mamou-Mani, who would've flopped a straight if he played the hand.

Kitajima Cracks Kings to Double Through Rezaei

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Hayato Kitajima open-jammed a stack of about 55,000 from early position and Daniel Rezaei flat-called in the hijack to get the hand heads-up.

Hayato Kitajima: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Daniel Rezaei: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Kitajima was able to get in front of the Cowboys of Rezaei when the flop came {j-Spades}{a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to give him two pair. He was able to dodge a ten or king as the board finished out {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} to secure him the double.

Benitez Left With Crumbs Then Eliminated

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

On a turn board of {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Francisco Benitez had bet 18,000 from late position, but was facing an all-in check-raise from Jesse Cesar Fonseca under the gun for 78,500.

Benitez used a couple of time bank cards before plunking down chips for a call. Unfortunately for the man who has won a pair of events at this year's EPT Barcelona, he was drawing dead as Fonseca held {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a full house while Benitez had {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for just a pair of tens.

Benitez was left with just 30,000 chips which would disappear shortly after, ending his day in the tournament.

Mateos and Kade Chop With Two Pair

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Dejan Kaladurdevic opened from the cutoff and Vanessa Kade and Adrian Mateos called from the blinds.

The flop landed {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Kade and Mateos both checked in flow. Kaladurdevic checked back. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and Kade led out with a bet of 15,000. Mateos took a moment and raised to around 50,000 and Kaladurdevic quickly folded before Kade three-bet all in. Mateos called.

Adrian Mateos: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}
Vanessa Kade: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Kade let out a chuckle as she saw that Mateos had the same hand and a meaningless river bricked off for the two to chop the pot.
