Oulmekki Takes From Short-Stacked Kanit

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

With approximately 4,000 in the pot on a completed board of {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Mustapha Kanit checked his big blind to Selim Oulmekki, who flicked forward a single T-1,000 chip.

Kanit flicked in one of his own to call and saw his opponent turn over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and queens. Kanit mucked his hand as his stack dwindled to just over 20,000 chips.

Nemeth Cracks Aces with Ace-King

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Andras Nemeth
Andras Nemeth

After an open to 1,600 from a middle position player, Jean Junior Guimaraes three-bet to 4,100 on the button, and Andras Nemeth four-bet to 10,500 in the big blind. Action folded back to Guimaraes who moved in the rest of his chips, and Nemeth quickly called.

Jean Junior Guimaraes: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Guimaraes was the big favorite to double and just needed to fade running cards after the dealer fanned the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. The {4-Diamonds} turn provided a sweat, however, and the {9-Diamonds} spiked the river to give Nemeth the pot with a flush on the unlikely runout, while Guimaraes made his exit.

Giner Eliminates Abitbol

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

With 8,500 in the pot on a turn board of {8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, David Giner checked in early position to Raphael Abitol in late position who bet 6,000.

Giner then check-raised all in for approximately 29,000 effective.

Abitol gave his decision a couple of minutes of though before sliding his stack forward to call.

Raphael Abitol: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
David Giner: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Abitol was drawing dead with his top pair, top kicker against Giner's set of eights, with the irrelevant {9-Clubs} falling on the river.

Alex Kulev: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Lars Koerts: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The board came {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} bringing no help to Kulev, sending him to the exit for the day.

Jack Salter
Jack Salter

With roughly 35,000 in the pot on a {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} board, Jack Salter was in middle position and facing a bet of 16,500 from Kenny Hallaert in the cutoff. Salter called.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board and Salter checked. Hallaert briefly thought about his decision before tapping the felt to check as well.

Salter tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a flopped set and took the pot as his Belgian opponent sent his cards into the muck.

Svoboda Doubles Through Patricio

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Laurence Stein opened to 2,000 from the cutoff and Peter Patricio three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind. Petr Svoboda, in the big blind, responded by moving all in for about 27,000 and Stein folded but Patricio made the call.

Petr Svoboda: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Peter Patricio: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Svoboda hit a pretty favorable flop of {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The {4-Spades} turn and {5-Clubs} river completed the board and Svoboda doubled up with a pair of queens.

Zagar Doubles Through Liperis

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Vid Zagar had gotten his 15,800 in from middle position and was at risk against Yiannis Liperis in early position.

Vid Zagar: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Yiannis Liperis: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Liperis was the favorite until the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop. The {9-Spades} turn gave Zagar a straight, and the Slovenian faded a king on the {10-Diamonds} river to secure the double-up.
