Farkas Forces Fold

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

On a heads-up turn of {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, Mathias Duarte in early position bet 10,000 into the already substantial pot of 20,000.

Peter Farkas in middle position, however, did not seem to think that amount was enough and decided to move all in for 25,000 total.

This sizing covered, Duarte, so he spent a good minute in the tank weighing his options.

"You have a king?" he asked of Farkas, but got no response.

Duarte eventually tapped the table and slid his hand into the muck and Farkus showed him that it was a good fold with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

"I had ten-nine," Duarte admitted as the large pot was pushed to Farkas.

Moore Leads River, Gets Kawakami to Fold

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Shun Kawakami opened to 700 from the button and Patrick Petermair called. Peter Jay Moore raised it up to 2,500 in the big blind and while Kawakami called, Petermair got out of the way.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and both players were happy to check.

The {3-Hearts} put a fourth heart on the board and Moore checked over to Kawakami who bet 2,600. Moore called.

The {a-Hearts} river completed a five-card flush on the board and Moore lead out for 9,500. Kawakami deliberated for about 45 seconds before making the fold.

Moore showed the {a-Diamonds} and Kawakami had a laugh, saying that he also had an ace.

Popov Takes One from Mikschik

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

There was around 4,000 in the middle on a four-way flop with the board reading {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Action checked around to the Slaven Popov on the button, who made it 1,200. Claudio Di Giacomo folded as well as Matteo Cavelier. Peter Mikschik came along from the hijack.

Both players were content to check down the {2-Diamonds} turn as well as the {8-Diamonds} river. Mikschik shook his head and said "Just a ten" as he flipped over {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Popov tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, with his ace good enough to win.

Several notables were seen in that casino room just beginning their days.

With 3,000 in the pot on a {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop, Martin Jacobson check-called a bet of 1,000 from Renan Alves.

The players then checked the {q-Spades} turn before the {a-Hearts} fell on the river.

Jacobson led out for 800 and was raised to 4,500 by Alves. Jacobson quickly called to see Alves' {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Jacobson then turned over {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for the winner to boost his stack in one of his first hands of his day.

Escote Scores Double-Up

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Felipe Machado got it all in preflop for his last 6,300 against Sergi Escote, who covered.

Sergi Escote: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Felipe Machado: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Escote was a favorite going in, but the flop of {j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} made him an even greater favorite as he flopped top set. The runout of {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} did not help Machado and Escote secured a double-up.
